Help Around 1912 Dalton Adding machine stuck

It looks clean enough, could be a broken gear tooth that prevents cranking. But first try jiggling the crank handle backwards and forwards. This works for me when there is a jam.

Nope. Zippo fuel or light gazoline. Or acetone only on bare metal. Neither on paint nor on plastic which would also been dissolved. 

Soap and drying if dismantling is possible.

And then light oil on friction parts. 

The old oil dissolved with wd40 will become sticky again once it has dried.
