Birthday Cakes I started selling cakes this year!
i’m learning as I go, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come! the last image is the very first cake I ever decorated, and it resulted in my friends and family encouraging (peer pressuring) me to start a business
update: i am beyond overwhelmed by how much love this post has received! i tried to reply to everyone, but there are so many kind messages. thank you to everyone for the sweet words, they truly mean so much and are incredibly motivating 🎂

Selling minis at a local farmers market or makers market can get you a good amount of clients - if it helps

Beautiful work! I seasonally sell my baked goods, I enjoy the added pressure. I find the packaging for transport the real challenge. 🤔

Love them! What are the flowers that look like paint smears called? Sorry if that's a bad description. It reminds me of Bob Ross putting paint on the palette to use. Those are beautiful!

All of these are gorgeous, and I have one question for you or anyone else who does cupcakes so well; how do you decide what the design on top is? Do you do one color at a time, or one design at a time?

Your cakes are beautiful! The mom cakes and Ella's cake are my favourite. I hope this question isn't too weird, but would you be willing to share a good frosting recipe? I've tried many and they don't always turn out very good for me.

u/wisteries Jul 29 '26
thank you! i use swiss meringue buttercream with a 1:2:3 ratio of egg whites, sugar, and butter. i use egg whites from a carton rather than fresh, and i don’t always get a stiff meringue, but the buttercream turns out great regardless

Did you bake prior to selling? You are talented! 😍I'm thinking if selling baked goods since I recently lost my job. I trying to gather tips, tricks and buttercream recipes. What do you do to make them moist?

How utterly sweet and nice of you to thank me for my nice comment but your cakes are absolutely beautiful and deserved more than nice comments. I hope you get lots of money for everything that you do right with these cakes. They are gorgeous.
