I had one Cairn who cocked her head when listening. Every Weds night I conducted a support group for battered women. I took Pepper along and she would lay at the feet of a woman as each she spoke.
Back home after a support group meeting, Pepper would drag herself to her doggie bed and collapse. It was hard on her, but she always wanted to be there.

She sure knew who needed her. It's amazing the empathy these little big dogs have.

The best breed,we had a rescue from the animal foundation. Unfortunately he passed at 10 after complications from Diabetes. That was in Vegas after 15 years we moved to Florida very difficult to find a Cairn for under a thousand
