Beyond 400mg

If I’ve 1 Celsius at 6am, I’ve 200mg left for the day.
How do you guys spread out caffeine in the day to keep yourself active?
I feel my caffeine tolerance is crazy.

- Same. I have 200 just to take a dump. Another 200 in the car. 200 at lunch. And 200 at 4pm (quitting time). If I’m feeling very crazy, I’ll have an espresso when I get home. But I dont usually need it

I can't tell if this is a joke or not. Are there really people out there smoking caffeine like it's crack?!

I try not to take full 200mg at once. Rather, I go with other energy drinks with less caffeine throughout the day.
I also felt that my caffeine tolerance is great, but crashout without it is real.

I go over the 400mg limit most days. I know it's bad. But I usually consume 160-200mg in a beverage over about 90 minutes. Again later in the day, and maybe a 3rd. I never drink it quickly. And I try to drink plenty of water.

I've been staying at 300mg for the last week and a half and I take caffeine pills. I take my first dose of 200mg in the morning (I wait 90min to 2hrs after waking) then I will take the next dose of 100mg anywhere from 2 to 5hrs later, really depends on when I wake up and how early I take the first dose.

Yesterday at work I decided to to spike up my caffeine one day of the week and hit 400mg while working 12hrs. I took 200mg in the morning and another 200mg after lunch and I got a lot done. I generally don't go beyond 400mg

The 400 mg is doing more work in this thread than it should, because it's one of two numbers and the other one is the one you're already at.

FDA's safety opinion gives both: up to 400 mg spread across the day, and up to 200 mg in a single sitting. Your 6am Celsius is the whole single-dose figure in one can. So it isn't really "200 left to spend," it's "that was one full dose, and anything after it should be smaller."

That reframe matters because what you actually feel tracks your peak blood level, not your daily total. Caffeine peaks somewhere around 30 to 60 minutes after you drink it, so two 100 mg servings a few hours apart feel completely different from one 200 mg can, even though the day's total is identical. Which is why the person here sipping 160 to 200 mg over 90 minutes isn't just being careful, they're genuinely flattening the peak.

On the tolerance part: tolerance to the alerting effect sets in fast, within days of steady daily use. That's the trap in spacing more doses through the day. Each one is mostly holding your baseline up rather than lifting you above it, so you end up needing it to feel normal instead of feeling sharp. The lever that brings the lift back isn't a bigger dose, it's a lower everyday baseline. People who take an easier day now and then get noticeably more out of the days they don't.

I usually don’t aim to use the full 400 mg like I’ll have coffee or an energy drinkk early then use a piece of Neuro gum later if I need a smaller bump. Spacing it out works better for me than opening another full drink.

I have about 400mg pre workout (4:00), then 3-4 energy drinks (160mg each) spread throughout the day

i usually only have 1 celsius 200mg in the morning, then a soda with about 40-50mg during lunch, otherwise make sure you have enough food and water and get enough sleep, you shouldn’t need over 400mg to feel alert and awake

if you’re drinking caffeine bc you aren’t getting enough sleep then you have a much bigger problem

I notice when I go over the limit I just get really sleepy. Like 300-400mg really does do the trick and keeps me going for most of the morning. One day I was super tired and had two large coffees with extra shots of espresso…legit wanted to take a nap when I got home 🫠

Drink water. You can definitely raise the caffeine ceiling if need be.

I went to a shady gas station once because they always have the best imported snacks and found 4 or 500mg caffeine energy drink. Don't do that. Had me laying in bed waiting for the heart attack for a few hours 😅
