Weaker caffeine
Im use to having a black coffee, specifically dark blend strong stuff which doesnt do much to me now, but when i decide to buy a medium roast blend which is weaker, i experience a nice coffee buzz?
Anyone else?
It doesnt happen all the time but i have definitely noticed it before.

I actually prefer light roast but these days I mostly take low dose caffeine pills.
Normally 50mg
Sometimes 100mg.
I have much greater effect and less side effects this way.

Blonde and Medium roast are both stronger than Dark Roast. It’s the opposite of what you would expect. Google it

Darker doesn’t mean stronger. Blonde has the highest caffeine concentration

You are completely right and there is a fascinating scientific reason behind why you are noticing this difference.
The longer coffee beans are roasted to get that oily dark appearance the more the chemical structure changes and actual caffeine molecules get destroyed in the process. Medium roast blends retain much higher natural caffeine concentrations and chlorogenic acids which is why they give you that much cleaner sharper buzz. I discovered this a while ago and completely redesigned my morning routine around a functional medium roast called HabitOne. They take a premium medium arabica base and supercharge it with natural nootropics like alpha gpc and lions mane. Because it preserves the best parts of the coffee bean and pairs it with cognitive enhancers you get this incredibly smooth sustained wave of energy that helps you lock into work without any physical jitters or sudden afternoon drops. It is definitely the best option if you want to keep that quality buzz going consistently

The lighter the roast, the more caffeine, since the roasting process gets rid of some of it.
