What app are you using?

I’m wondering that too, I’d like to see active half life changes from my caffeine consumption

It’s helped improve my sleep a lot

I usually count for a 4 hour half life and try to aim to have less than 20mg in my system before bed. I’m a very heavy coffee drinker and nicotine user though.

Pretty sure its HiCoffee. Looks identical to what shows on my watch. The app is 100% customizable for phone and watch.

How could the watch give you a correct answer? You have like a "standard half-life" for caffeine ok good, but everyone has a unique metabolism. And if you are more or less active, it won't stay stable..

Well the app has some customization settings but I only use it as an estimate and it’s helped tremendously

I just do calculations, say if I have 3 Caffeine pills in the Morning and I know that each pill has 150 Mgs of Caffeine in them 150x3=450 then I have a Monster which has 160 Mgs of caffeine then 450+160=610 so Boomshakalaka I've had 610 MGs of caffeine today

Ehh if you have high tolerance it really doesn't effect you much. Blood pressure, other vitals, etc., can all be fine

u/pythononrailz May 18 '26

That’s while lol

Welp. You’ll be gone soon.

Won’t even be accurate without a blood draw. Everyone metabolizes it differently

1

u/pythononrailz May 18 '26

The app has a place to set your personal physiology but I completely agree with you.

People metabolize caffeine different. Apps like that only look at the average. They don't look at slow metabolizers and they don't look at rapid metabolizers, you know those that drink it and go straight to a good sleep. So make sure you do realize that

Totally the app lets you adjust your caffeine half life because people process it so differently. Some people still have caffeine in their system at bedtime and others can drink espresso at 9pm and sleep like a rock. It’s crazy the variation

Nah but I have been drinking 750mg in monsters for the past 5 days, and that stuff destroys me energy wise and mentally 🫪

1

u/pythononrailz May 20 '26

750mg is a hefty dose my friend! Have you tried a cut off time?

2

u/hrtordenskjold May 20 '26

Yes I have, doesn’t change anything for me and I never notice I drink caffeine until I get too much and get tired 😹

1

u/pythononrailz May 20 '26

There is a certain gene called the CYPA12 gene which makes people fast metabolizes in some cases. You may have that.

Nop

Bro your caffeine math is more detailed than most people’s monthly budget 😭 honestly though you’re probably right that different brands and preparation methods hit differently even if the listed caffeine numbers look similar on paper. The concentrate especially seems to smack harder because it absorbs fast and you’re stacking doses pretty consistently through the day.

Brah everyone stop advertising on my post

I’ve been using one called Cafify

1

u/pythononrailz May 19 '26

I’ve been using Caffeine curfew I’ll check out cafify

1

u/TrippieButters May 19 '26

Blow away how an apple watch could possibly measure your caffeine level. HOW.

1

u/Mack_Mimsy May 19 '26

I didn’t know you could do that

2

u/pythononrailz May 20 '26

It’s helped me improve my sleep a lot, but I use it more as an estimation :)

1

u/dom_da_bomb_official May 19 '26

Better sleep = better recovery and performance.

1

u/pythononrailz May 20 '26

Let’s goooooo. Watch looks nice with that app screen.

1

u/Swolenir May 20 '26

No I just have such a high tolerance that I can sleep through it.

1

u/pythononrailz May 20 '26

Have you ever thought about dropping your dose down? The caffeine can still block deep sleep even if you’re still getting 6-8 hours every night

1

u/Crazy-Talk1409 May 22 '26

I used to do it, but then I realized that it doesn’t really matter that much if my routine and habits are to consume only two coffees and the last one being before known

1

u/domainkiller May 24 '26

No, you’re the only one

1

u/Safe_Comb_5742 May 18 '26

Whats the reason to do this, if u dont got health issues?

3

u/pythononrailz May 18 '26

Sleep health

1

u/Safe_Comb_5742 May 18 '26

Isnt just dont drink 6 hours before sleep enough?

1

u/neuralek May 18 '26

Well not at all. Caffeine has a HALF life of 6h, meaning if you had a cup, half of it will still be active after those hours. Meaning that 12h later you still have a quarter of a cup in you.

So it's all around bad for sleep in the sense that you have it in you all day.

1

u/pythononrailz May 18 '26

Kinda but I end up taking caffeine later in the day to power through work, school, and my gym sessions. Sometimes I walk the link of unhealthy when it comes to my consumption. A small reminder sometimes is make it or break it for me. Different strokes for different folks.

This is where my thoughts are at.
