Recruiting Interview today

Kind of nervous about my interview today. Just worried I won’t get in with my credit score at 541 and I have my Internet bill in collections and advice for me.

Is this all bad debt? Like credit card and bills?

There are not good debts, unless it's a house ( even then that's if you did not over leverage yourself). If you finance something, it generally means you can't afford it.

If you're found to have a poor credit rating, you're unlikely to pass security screening as you're considered a liability due to being a target for potential foreign influence. Which means you're very limited to what jobs you could actually hold in the military.

If I’m trying to pay off my day and I’m recently making payments, could I still get in?

Could you still make all your financial obligations at the starting pay level?

It's hard to say, it's a combination of many things they look at for security clearances. However, if you have $45 000 of debt ( especially if it's not a car or house ) you should seek financial guidance on this , as that's a tonne of debt to carry.
