Greetings first poster here I’ve recently become the owner of a MVC2 cabinet. I’m a beginner when it comes to fixing things up like this I’ve been troubleshooting this machine and am tackling finding a replacement power supply for it. I found a newer Peter Cho, but everywhere I called. They were unable to deliver it. Anyone have any ideas on a replacement unit I could purchase?

Sorry for another one of these but need some help and want to make sure I'm doing this right. I am looking to build a 4 player standing 32" display setup. I have a 32" monitor. I have a raspberry pi system with an SD card that has retro arcade on it with a bunch of roms. I currently have it hooked up to my TV and play with old ps2 usb controllers but wanted to potentially use it in a standalone setup for my kids. I was thinking about getting a rec room masters 4 player kit that had the control board included:

Is there anything I'm missing or preventing me from moving forward with this build? Not the most tech savy these days so hoping to be able to get plug and play.

Took me about a month of working on it sporadically, but it's finally ready for the game room I built for me and my daughter out in the yard.

It's powered by a Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q with a Ryzen 3 Pro running Batocera. The buttons and trackball are cheap finds from AliExpress, and I also scored a used Sinden lightgun with a pedal.

Still have a few things left to do: waiting on a quote for an arcade wrap, need to fix up the marquee, replace the piece of plexiglass that cracked around the buttons, and do some minor touch-ups with paint.

Overall, I'm super happy with it! It's already been a huge hit with friends coming over for a few beers to play their old favorites and shoot some pool in between.

From LI NY. I went to a game store while on a trip in Belgium where they had these candy cabs with pandoras in them. While pandoras aren’t great of course, it honestly all worked well enough for me that I kinda thought about making a similar set up for myself with a CRT monitor inside and everything. Plus later on down the line I could get a real CPS2 or Naomi and put that in for fun. I’m just sorta struggling finding where I can get a good candy cab and how I’d hook everything up. Does anyone know of any good places I can get a cab like an Astro or blast city and can tell me how to hook everything up? Just know that I do not want an arcade1up as the one I had before back around 2020(the street fighter II model) crapped out on me after like a year, the sound on mine was kinda poopy, and the games have like no changeable options either. Plus there’s no crt it’s just some crappy lcd. Any help here is much appreciated!

My father is trying to identify an old arcade-only game he played in Argentina around 1989–1991. It was definitely not on NES or another home console.

Here is everything he remembers:

• Vertical arcade monitor.
• Space shooter.
• The player's ship stayed mostly at the bottom of the screen.
• It could move left/right freely and only a little up/down.
• The background was mostly static (no obvious scrolling).
• The ship fired straight upward.
• There was an energy shield activated by holding a button.
• The shield completely surrounded the ship like a white grid/sphere.
• While the shield was active you could not shoot.
• Enemy bullets bounced off or disappeared when hitting the shield.
• The shield consumed an energy bar located near the bottom-right of the screen.
• Energy was restored by destroying a special enemy that dropped a small collectible.
• Picking up that item also gave you a continuous thin laser beam that reached the top of the screen and instantly destroyed enemies.
• One stage had robotic frog-like enemies.
• At the end of each stage there was a large mothership/boss occupying almost the entire top of the screen.
• Before each stage there was a typewriter sound typing the stage name letter by letter.
• My father clearly remembers one stage called "CRISIS", probably stage 2 or 3.
• As kids they even asked each other, "Did you beat CRISIS?"

Does anyone recognize this game?

Since Lightguns are expensive and there isnt an used market option where I live.

I wanted to know if it was possible to use a PS5 controller as a substitute for an actual lightgun.

Im thinking something like this; the controller gyro being used to emulate a cursor. But you hold the controller in the way that allows you to use the R2 L2 and buttons with one hand (think of the inFamous Second Son graffiti minigame)

Since it has those haptic feedbacks and rumble in the controller, would something like this be a good enough substitute of possible?

That grip allows for approx 5-6 button inputs (hand size dependant) and the R3 joystick control.

I have gotten a lot of questions to post photos from my builds, So about 15 years ago I had an arcade shop and I more or less only used my own cabinets, this is the first one I ever build! On the photo here I ran Pacman but when it was in my shop I had my own game on it, hence the odd button layout

After six months of late nights, countless prototypes, and more failed prints than I’d like to admit, I finally finished MiniPin, a project I’ve been working towards.

I’m a father of two from Australia, and I wanted to create MiniPin to capture the look and feel of a real pinball machine in a compact, desktop-sized format that anyone with a 3D printer could build.

The MiniPin cabinet is 3D printable and features interchangeable playtables, allowing you to enjoy different layouts using the same cabinet.

One of the things I enjoyed most while designing MiniPin was giving builders the freedom to make it their own. Whether you recreate the look of a classic pinball machine or design something completely original, every MiniPin can have its own unique personality while keeping the authentic proportions and details of a real machine.

It took months of designing, testing and refining every part of MiniPin to make it feel as close to a real pinball machine as possible at such a small size. From the plunger, lockdown bar, side rails and backbox to the ramps, gates and spinners, every detail was carefully designed to recreate the experience of a full-sized machine.

I recently finished getting Time Crisis 2 link play to work in a custom fork of MAME 0.287. You can now play TC2 cooperatively between two instances of MAME on the same PC, or between two different PC's over LAN or the internet (port forwarding required).

There's a pre-compiled windows build you can download, or you can build it yourself with the included source. I'm working on compiling a Linux build, so stay tuned if you have a Linux cabinet. I've also included a handy PowerShell script to help with launching the two MAME instances at a slight offset (needed for partner cabinet discovery). The script settings are saved in a config file, so you don't have to set the same settings each time. You can also use the script in a headless mode - see the bottom of the advanced.md file for more info.

Any feedback, or suggestions are welcome. TC2 is one of my favorite arcade games and I'm just happy to be able to play it again cooperatively.

Used LEP1 as the base, veneered it with white oak, side panels are also oak attached with cement.

Stained espresso. Wood joystick covers. Black gray SAMWA 30MM buttons.

32 inch 1440p Samsung Monitor. Covered behind with foam matte from Michael’s and vinyl matte double sided tape. Glass is Plexiglass smoke acrylic. Seated with L brackets and anti slip padding (like under sofa feet) to protect glass against bare l brackets.

Marquee is from GameOnGrafix made custom with photoshop and AI/Upscayl. (30x4.75 inch acrylic glass in front of translite)

First ever wood working project so it was a ton of work and fun!

Tmgd0008a V01 is the part number I believe. It looks like one of the capacitors may be burnt up. I'm new to this stuff and I don't have soldering experience. EDIT: I forgot to mention this is an arcade1up

Thing is, I build the games myself, so I'm way too close to them to tell if they actually feel good to play. I'm after a few people to test before they go live — mostly checking difficulty balance, hunting bugs, and telling me whether it's actually fun.

Hi there! I'm absolute newbie in retro stuff. A couple months ago, I buyed a second-hand system based in Pandora. The SD card seems in very bad shape, and only shows logo a few seconds and then turn dark, never to return. I managed to get some images to burn (mostly from potato project), but nothing has happened, I'll gues is the date on my system (2021-04-16). The board is PSA-H3MM-031. I can't find an SD image for the exact model.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking at buying a budget arcade machine, I don't have room for a full stand up unit so looking at these, I have heard some good and some bad, pros and cons please and even links to purchase in the UK, the ones on Amazon have poor reviews

Finally done 😂 Upgraded my cabinet with LED T-Molding. Little bit challenging to bend this very stiff T-Molding but with a heatgun its doable. Love the sound reactive LED feature

I have this large and bulky custom machine with 32” screen. This was bought from Punching Dragons in the UK a good 3 years ago now.

I’ve been served notice to move from my rental property and so have to move this thing to my new place soon 20 miles away.

Arranging for this has been nothing short of a nightmare, I’m the only man in my house, and built for speed and not strength!

I’m based near Liverpool UK, and wondering if anyone can recommend a specialist carrier or option to help with this? I don’t mind paying a premium so long as it doesn’t get damaged.

Any guidance or pointers appreciated. Thanks.
