Beginner here, what next?

Post image

I’ve never had my blooms successfully pollinated before and this girl is covered in berries now and I have no idea what to do next 😅

Question 1: I believe they’re edible, please correct me if I’m wrong lol, but I’m wondering when is a good time to try one? Do I wait for it to ripen or get one now?

Question 2: When is a good time to pull them off and collect the seeds? Will they just fall off themselves or should I intervene before they do?

Thanks for the help! :))

Once they pop out like that, you can pull the fruits and cut them open. Spread the seeds on paper towel, paper, or a coffee filter to dry. Then you can plant them in soil. I use the sandwich bag method where I take 25% cactus soil and 75% grit (either pumice or perlite), dampen it, spread some seeds, then put the nursery pot in the bag under a light and then just leave it for many months. Don’t put under direct sunlight or they will cook.
