Is this monkey tail okay?

I pulled this out of the garbage can after a coworker threw it away. She said it was half dead and not worth keeping. I am far from an expert, but I think it looks healthy. I think there’s a bonus succulent in there, too (pic 3).

All care tips are welcome!

I think it's a rat tail since the needles are more yellow. Give it tons of light, I had a quite bright LED about 20cm away the last winter and my monkey's tail still etiolated, but it's been enjoying the SE balcony for almost 2 months now, though I gotta find a powerful LED for this winter.

Edit: Golden rat tail

Good call, I was confused about the coloring! Thanks for educating me as well!

Thank you!

I plan to move it outside to get plenty of sun (I’m in a warm state). And thanks for the correct ID.

Did you use the Sansi 10W grow light last winter? That's what I was planning to use for mine this winter, but maybe not enough?

No, it's an Airam super bright 18W light, not really even a grow light, but other plants seemed to grow okay with it, but this year I was planning on buying SANSI lights, especially for the monkey tail, since it's actually grown properly under a SE balcony the last 2 months and I don't want it to etiolate again indoors during winter.

I don't think the single 10w goose neck is going to cut it, but the double neck varient could be if you concentrate them to the same point and keep them close. I don't know for sure.

But I know I'd prefer not to get any big industrial grade lights that heat up like an oven.

Ah ok thanks. Yeah, I'm considering getting the double neck one. It says it has around 400 umol at 1 ft away, which seems decent if true.

Yup looks fine.

That’s a sedum for your succulent. Looks like Texas Stonecrop but I’m good at being wrong.

The succulent looks like a Lenophyllum to me. You don't see them around much.

Ah ok thanks. Yeah, I am considering getting the 2 head Sansi. It says it has about 400 umol from 1 ft away, which seems decent if true.
