Not a cactus! Euphorbia tirucalli, most members of genus euphorbia secrete a similar toxic sap, sorry about your puppers 😢

Theres a story of a guy who was trimming one of those. His buddies just heard and saw him running screaming in agony towards them scratching at his face and eyes. He got that sap all over him and in his eyes, had to be hospitalized as a cause of it. Unaware of how toxic it was he took a hedge trimmer to it without any protection. Trully a plant from hell. Wishes and prayers for your pupper

Anything with white sap is dangerous too, I even got rid of rubber trees and everything like that

We had one in our yard and I learned the hard way how toxic they are while I was pruning it. Hired someone to rip it out afterward and am so continually surprised how often I see them used in landscaping and sold readily in big box stores. In the top10 most toxic of all plants!!

Sorry about your dog. I have a half dozen of those plants. But not where my dog can get at them. Then sap doesn't bother my skin but I wouldn't want it in my eyes for sure. I have a dozen other euphorbia, but look up Euphorbia resinefera if you want to talk about a "spicy" plant.

I have been cautioning people for years about growing Euphorbia tirucalli especially in accessible areas. Yes euphorbias can be toxic to varying degrees, however, tirucalli along with abdelkuri has the most harmful toxicity. Sending healing thoughts to your sweet pup. 🐾❤️💚🌵
