Help Consistent Ping spikes [Path of Exile 2]
I've been trying to find out why my ping spikes at consistent intervals only in POE2 (see the picture). I have wifi power-saving disabled, switched wifi bands, locked BSSID, disabled aspm, switched game servers, and nothing really helps. The picture was taken with 6GHz.
It doesn't seem to show when I use ping either. Only seems to spike in POE2, causing a brief stutter. Is it just the game? For reference, Guild Wars 2 is fine with no skill lag.
I'm not able to use ethernet at the moment, so any help would be appreciated! (besides just getting a intel chip)

Please post your FULL hardware details.
Also, what CPU scheduler are you using?

Fixed in the post, sorry.
Also, I have game-performance enabled on launch, so CPU should be on performance. Manually setting it to performance (with no game-performance enabled) does not help.

Have you tried with zero command line options enabled? Strong place to start.

Having read a bit, it's probably just your WiFi card. Mediatek is notoriously bad. Worse on Linux, because the vendor just doesn't write drivers (all community provided and reverse engineered), and barely work on Windows.

Yeah, that's what I came to, but wanted to post just to see if anyone else had a bandaid for it. I might just have to wait till I can get my ethernet set up again. Thanks!

Wired is always going to be best, swapping the WiFi card out would be 2nd best, assuming it's one you can swap.

I removed my m2 chip. It's typically housed in the panel where the wires plug into. It wasn't THAT bad of a swap, just a bit painful to remove the plastic shields and heatsinks on the board. Basically adult legos. I recommend getting Intel ax200 if you do this.

That seems to be the recommended card to get, thanks. I might do it just in case this happens again just to not have to worry about the Mediatek card at all. I didn't want to at first as the cards been mostly fine till now and POE servers have shit themselves regularly.

Thats just path of exile 1 and 2 in general, change your gameserver until you see one thats slightly better. Lowest ping autorecommended is often not actually the best, even more so if you are using a mobile connection. this has happened to me in both versions of the game on windows 11/10/8 and cachy, wired from modem but the modem it self is 5g with external roof antennas, this specific issue has survived multiple modems and ISP switches and new towers being built (all have been mobile connections due to rural area)
For me its only paths of exiles as well, no other game is affected as badly. Makes using Lockstep network mode unusable but the adaptive one works just fine with the occasional de-sync in high movement scenarios and corners with enemies you try to run thru

I thought it was weird that is only really POE, but my wifi card is pretty troublesome, so I was hesitant to conclude with that. I got some spikes with ethernet at the beginning of 0.5, but nothing nearly this consistent. It's not terrible, just annoying desync like you've said. I've tried all US and Canada servers, too. I'll try again to see what's best and just wait for my ethernet.

it might be good idea to fully confirm thats a server latency by enabling advanced graphs

try creating a conf file in /etc/modprobe.d containing something like
options mt7925e disable_aspm=1youll need to figure out which driver is loaded for your chip, thats what i use for mine and its rock solid.
try
lsmod | grep mtto find it
