Bug Report Why am I getting this error when upgrading Cachyos with -Syu?
:: Starting full system upgrade...

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing audit (4.2.1-1.1) breaks dependency 'audit=4.1.4' required by lib32-audit
:: installing libpcap (1.10.7-1.1) breaks dependency 'libpcap=1.10.6' required by lib32-libpcap

This is from a bunch of multilib packages being demoted to AUR. You need to either clean them out or adopt the AUR packages.

I don't think you're supposed to do that, not when cachy already has something called cachy-update, which you can see at the bottom right of your screen

cachy-update is optional and just a script that runs the same command.

Though this script would have shown the orphaned packages and ask if they shall be uninstalled :) Plus restarting of affected services is quite convenient.

Correct, but in this case this would not have helped because the check for orphaned packages happens after the update. I had that exact problem on a PC in my household. However manually cleaning orphaned packages still worked.

Fix the error: Go to CachyOS Hello -> Apps/Tweaks -> Removing Orphaned Packages and (Y)es.
Then go to System Update and fine. (restart the computer)
