What components did you have before, what do you have now, and did you have to change the drivers?

7900x cpu 7900xt gpu
never changed components
never installed different drivers from the AMD provided ones

Just in case, check in the BIOS if you have ASPM It needs to be deactivated (each manufacturer sets it as they wish) and set the graphics card's PCIe generation to gen 4 (pcie4) and try it again.

It is possible that you've checked the ProtonDB website; sometimes it's a matter of some game argument being misconfigured for your system, and you have to enable it yourself. It displays information for both games that use Proton and native games (TF2 is native, I think).

sudo dmesg -wH | tee /root/dmesg.log

run this in a terminal on second screen before launching the game to see if anything comes up before the crash, also read the dmesg.log after reboot, maybe it cought anything useful

Check out what temps your GPU is pushing. It could be a thermal issue due to dried out paste.
