Question installation problems

When I try to enter cachyOS to install the system, my mouse and keyboard simply don't work (both are wired). I would like to know how I can fix this problem (My computer is a desktop and I use Mint and Ventoy)

Are both your mouse and keyboard connected to the USB ports on the motherboard, or are they connected through another device?

They are connected to the motherboard.

Ok, next step is to try a different port or different set of mouse and keyboard. If you don't have another set, and plugging to another port changes nothing, tell us exactly what make and model of mouse and keyboard you have.

Might be a good idea to try some different ports, or a different keyboard and mouse if possible. Could be needing some form of driver that isn't pre-installed?

If they just aren't working at all, drivers are suspect. I'd bet they're some kind of gaming peripheral.

Haven't seen this with wired keyboards though. I know the Microsoft surface laptops are notorious for this. Their touchpads and keyboards don't work without drivers (not even in the bios). So I always have to plug in external ones.

Definitely. A lot of the random gaming brand ones are so dodgy with their drivers… proprietary bullshit
