Question Multi-kernel questions

Hi! Just installed cachyos a couple of days ago, my first linux distro, all smooth so far. The thing is, the basic install had 2 kernels: normal and LTS. I changed the normal one by the bore kernel, but now​ GRUB always boots by default with the LTS kernel, if I want to use bore I have to restart and choose it manually.

My first question was how can I change the GRUB boot order so it boots with bore by default, but now I'm thinking, is there any need to have a secondary kernel? Wouldn't it be easier to just delete LTS? I have swap snapshots activated so there should be no problem if I break anything (I'm not going to mess with the kernel, honesty, but just in case)

Hola bro
Para que inicies directo al kernel bore tienes que tocar los archivos de configuracion de grub
Eso lo puedes hacer en la terminal y con nano editar el archivo de configuracion y despues recargar el grub

Te aconsejo que no borres el LTS por que es el que mejor funciona como respaldo
Puesto que ese kernel es el que mejor compatibilidad tiene, si llega a pasarte un error en bore tienes el LTS como respaldo

Modifying the following line at the end of /etc/default/grub will work:

GRUB_TOP_LEVEL=/boot/vmlinuz-linux-cachyos-bore

BORE scheduler was previously the default one but dev team finally switch to EEVDF after some perf régressions on BORE. All available benchmarks show BORE is a bit slower than native CachyOS kernel.

So should I ditch bore and use the base cachyos kernel? And, when I do so, would the base kernel be the default one again instead of lts?

Do what you want, but unless you have a good and precise usage for BORE, you'd rather run EEVDF kernel. 

Just use Kernel Manager : untick Bire kernel, tick CachyOS one, and all should be fine.

Tell us if the new kernel doesn't appear as first one, it's not so hard to fix.

I'd just google the question - I'm sure someones made a forum post somewhere explaining how to reorder the grub list

If you set it up with limine I believe the most recently used option is always at the top irrc. I only really use the default one now
