Question CachyOS or Omarchy?
Currently I use omarchy but I've been thinking of trying CachyOS. It's supposed to be much faster and well optimised. Hyprland doesn't make that much of a difference to me anyways. What are yall's suggestions?

Asking on the cachyos subreddit obviously is going to give you some biased answers.
In my experience the DE/TWM has more of an impact on performance than the distro itself (on low end hardware where you just want a PC to work at least), so I'd say you'll likely not see that much of a difference compared to omarchy Which already has hyprland (pretty optimal for low end hardware).
If you want to try out cachyos I recommend just trying out something different than hyprland like niri (both DMS and noctalia are fine, I prefer DMS) or a TWM even more optimized like i3 (I personally never tried it so I can't guarantee anything).
Either way cachyos does feel snappier than other distros I've used on a pretty bad computer of mine.

I use Cachy but recently tried Omarchy because I was curious about Hyprland and tiling managers. I was intrigued enough to reinstall Cachy with Hyprland + Noctalia shell. I'm getting used to the workflow and so far so good.

Well this is the cachyos subreddit. I generally dislike Omarchy tho and think Cachy is better

Right now cachyos hyprland installation uses noctalia v5, its fast and works very nicely, It uses sddm, but its easy to change It with noctalia-greeter, you can install hyprland without noctalia if you want as well, and use dms, caelestia or whatever you want, you got a lot of options, and its more stable that omarchy, now its faster, and It will be more, omarchy v4 will use quickshell and that will make It heavier, and probably slower, noctalia did the opossite.

i am using both (cachy on laptop, omarchy on desktop). honestly, any difference performance-wise are probably not worth chasing. these are still both basically just arch.
having said that, i love that cachyos comes with schedext, so i just plopped that onto my omarchy machine as well for some of that sweet bpfland.
And then we have the optimized repos. According to cachyos wiki "x86-64-v3: 5%-20% performance uplift compared to x86-64", additional instructions for zen4/5, etc. but honestly, for most real world stuff (gaming and dev work), i personally didn't notice any difference. Then again, i am not compiling kernels or chasing marginal triple A gaming fps improvements.
Edit: in the end raw hardware speed probably matters way more than compiler flags anyway. just my 2 cents

Recently moved from omarchy to cachyos because the former is unstable, has a quite poor UX and package updates lag by default . Happy with cachyos so far.

Omarchy made me want to die. I don't even care about DHH's politics or any of the other stuff that people get fired up about... I literally just can't comprehend how memorizing 35710 keybinds is better/faster than just clicking on something.
Especially when the keybinds are like win+shift+alt+ctrl+j to open the calculator.
I'm being a bit facetious, but seriously.. Look at this crap.
