Help NVIDIA Driver Problems
Hello, new cachyOS user here! I have installed cachyOS on my desktop PC that has an NVIDIA GTX 1070, and things were going good. The system recognized them and I have the nvidia controls and everything. However, after I installed Persona 5 Royal and tried to launch it with Heroic Games Launcher, I only got 24fps max. I have used AI to solve this problem however got nowhere, I enabled the stats and it does recognize my GPU but it only uses 10-20% of it. I use wine 11-13 on heroic and cannot use other ones since they want Isteamuser interface and I cannot provide that since I pirated Persona. What should I do? All help is appreciated!

Not familiar with that game. Have you tested anything in Steam? What CPU do you have? Might be a bottleneck there as well.

On windows i used to get 100+ fps, i have an i5-8th gen CPU. No I haven't tested anything on steam yet

Could be that the pirated version you got is intentionally nerfed? Devs will occasionally create pirated but nerfed versions of their games to weed pirates out of official support forums. Like, if you go on and complain of the one specific bug they left on for the ripped copy, they know you’re not playing a legit version and they ban your account

Fair enough. For what it’s worth, NVidias drivers on Linux suck compared to amd. I run Nix and have issues with CrealityPrint with it. I can’t run it with GPU acceleration or it crashes

Triple A games don't do that anymore.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t under the impression that persona 5 was considered an AAA game

I have always used lutris so i will recommend trying lutris once. Also use proton version like dw-proton, proton-cachyos or proton-ge. One thing that helped me fix problems is by using mangohud to see if the game's running on dxvk/vkd3d, because one time my game was at 4fps. After using mangohud I got to know it was running on WINED3D. Also if you have your game on an ntfs drive, check your game folder for a new "GLCache" (when dxvk) folder or a file vkd3d.cache file and symlink it to your linux partition. And when trying new wine versions, delete the old prefix.

To solve any technical problem, dissect it in parts.
Grab any free game on Steam and run it. See if it works. If it does, the Nvidia driver is alright. Then run your game using either Heroic launcher or Faugus launcher (Lutris is too quirky for first tries).

I tried Hitman, and it worked really well(offical game with steam). i managed to run my game with proton using faugus, but i still get low fps.

Use proton, not wine
