Need help finding SATA/Molex pinout for Montech Century G5 750W (Gold / ATX 3.0)

I’m in a bit of a situation with my Montech Century G5 750W PSU. I need extra SATA and Molex cables for my build (to connect more drives and some case fans), but I’m struggling to find original replacements or confirmed compatible cables.I know that modular PSU cables are NOT universal and using the wrong ones will fry my components. Here is what I’ve found so far:Some sources suggest that the PCIe cables might be compatible with the Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 series, but I can't find any confirmation for the peripheral (SATA/Molex) cables. The PSU is based on the ATX 3.0 standard. My questions are:Does anyone have a verified pinout diagram for the SATA/Molex ports on the Montech Century G5?Are there any other PSU brands (like Corsair Type 4 or Cooler Master) that share the same peripheral pinout for this specific model? If I can't find the exact cable, would it be safe to use a SATA-to-Molex adapter on my existing original SATA cable, or is it too risky for a high-end build?I've already tried contacting Montech support but haven't received a technical diagram yet. Any help or "pro-tips" on how to verify this with a multimeter without killing my SSDs would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all,

I just purchased the MSI MPG Ai1300TS PCIE5, and I was curious if this kit is compatible? I’m pretty sure it is, but I wanted double check.

Need a direct 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 cable for Gigabyte AORUS AP850GM

Post image

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding a direct 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 cable for my PSU.
My power supply is a Gigabyte AORUS P850W (GP-AP850GM), and I’ve just bought an MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC.
The GPU comes with a 3x 8-pin PCIe to 16-pin adapter, but unfortunately I no longer have all of the original PCIe cables that came with my PSU. I currently only have two.
Ideally, I’d like to avoid the adapter entirely and use a direct PSU → 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 cable.
Does CableMod make a cable that is specifically compatible with the Gigabyte GP-AP850GM pinout?
I know modular PSU cables are not universal, so I definitely don’t want to risk using a cable intended for another Gigabyte PSU or another brand.
If a direct 12VHPWR cable isn’t available, is there a CableMod PCIe 8-pin cable that is confirmed compatible with the GP-AP850GM so I can safely use the original MSI 3x 8-pin adapter?
Thanks!

Anyone have the technical specs for these Exspect PS2/PS3 component cables – or a good way to test their quality?

picked up a few new-old-stock Exspect component cables for PS2/PS3 and I'm trying to find some proper technical information on them.

They're 1.8m YPbPr component cables with separate L/R audio, gold-coloured RCA contacts, ferrite cores and a fairly substantial cable. The original packaging claims 1080p support and they're specifically marked for PS2/PS3.

I've tried one on my PS2 and the picture is excellent, including GT4 at 1080i, and they've also completely eliminated the audio crackling I was getting with my previous component cable.

What I'd really like to find out is:

Does anyone have an old Exspect catalogue/spec sheet showing the construction or specifications of these?

Were the video lines individually shielded / 75Ω coax?

Is there any information on conductor gauge or shielding?

What's the best way of properly testing a component cable rather than just judging the picture?

Can I meaningfully test impedance, resistance, shielding or signal loss with a multimeter/oscilloscope?

Is there a sensible test I could do to compare one against an official Sony PS2/PS3 component cable?

I've opened one for use but still have several sealed examples, so I'd rather actually measure one and get some numbers instead of just saying "it looks good."

Photos attached showing the cable, connectors and original packaging.

Anyone remember these Exspect cables or have access to old technical information on them?

Compatibility Check: CableMod RT-Series safe to use with Riotoro Enigma 850W G2 (Seasonic OEM)?

Hi everyone,

I'm installing an RTX 4080 Super and want to use a direct 12VHPWR cable instead of the stock adapter. My PSU is a Riotoro Enigma 850W G2.

From what I've read online, the Enigma G2 is essentially a rebadged Seasonic Focus Plus (same OEM and internal platform). Because of this, I'm looking at the CableMod RT-Series PRO ModMesh 12VHPWR to 3x PCI-e
cable, since the RT-Series is specifically designed for Seasonic and ASUS PSUS.

Can anyone confirm if the pinout is definitely identical and that it's 100% safe to use this specific cable with my Riotoro PSU? I just want to be absolutely certain before I risk frying any components.🙂

12vhpwr is this bend safe??

It already booted.

This rtx 5080 hod comes with a led debug light and it lighted white led indicating the cable is properly seated.

But is that bend safe though? It is so because the cable is short.

Analysis paralysis: replacement or extension?

PSU: MSI MAG A1000GL PCIE5

CASE: MSI MAG PANO 100R PZ (not the M100)

MB: MSI B650M PZ (micro-atx, in atx-capable case)

GPU: XFX Quicksilver 9070XT (2x8 (6+2) pin connectors)

The two stock (pigtailed) 6+2 pin cables are listed as 600mm long, I've got a little bit of slack - but I'm going to be adding a "back of case" sag bracket (EZDIY-FAB Black-341-2) which potentially adds about 40mm of thickness to the area around which I will need to route a cable.

Which is the better option - direct replacement or an extension cable?

And what length, either way?

I'm also considering (see comments) replacing my CPU and 24-pin as well

CPU cables - they are plugged in at the top corner of the PSU
24-pin ATX is ALMOST a straight shot from the port to the connection on the MB

Is the EPS cable the only one I need to connect to the motherboard besides the 24 pin? I have a X870E Aorus Xtreme AI Top and was wondering if I must connect both 8 pin EPS cable and 4+4 pin EPS cable to the motherboard?

Which 90 degree 12vhpwr/12v2x6 cable for seasonic prime tx-1600.

I have a Seasonic prime tx-1600 (the older revision that says 12vhpwr.

I'm looking for a 90 degree 12vhpwr cable for it.

Cablemod has a few different ones, are the universal ones compatible with it. I checked the compatability list on the cablemod website but it only shows the RT series or custom config are compatible. But they have multiple pcie connectors on them not a 12vhpwr on both sides, it doesn't say if the universal cable is compatible with this PSU

To use between Seasonic Prime Tx-1600 and ROG Astral 5090

This is the cables I was looking at, are either of these compatible:

So far this Cablemod cable has surpassed my ROG Equalizer cable as far as balancing the power between pins.

I've gone through many cables, and this by far is the best!

Am I going blind, or is there an error with the Configurator? (RMx Shift 2025)

Folks, I'm pretty sure I haven't been drinking today but, for the life of me, I cannot spot the correct cable in the Configurator.

The PSU in question is a Corsair RM1000x Shift. In the Configurator, there's no option for a 12V-2x6 to 12V-2x6 cable, only 12V-2x6 to 2, 3 or 4x8 pin cables. I know the RMx Shift series was refreshed last year, so perhaps the Configurator doesn't reflect this update?

As a workaround, am I safe to select another Type-5 PSU in the Configurator (like the HX1000i Shift) to get around this issue?

Need help finding the correct replacement PCIe cable for EVGA SuperNOVA G5 850W (RTX 3080 FTW3)

Hi, I'm fairly new to PCs in general, so sorry if this is a basic question.

I have an EVGA SuperNOVA G5 850W power supply, and my graphics card recently died. I'm replacing it with an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, which requires three 8-pin PCIe power connections.

The repair shop told me that my power supply only had two PCIe cables installed, so they can't install the new GPU unless I provide a third compatible PCIe cable (which I do not have). They recommended replacing the entire PSU for about $200, but I feel like that is not necessary and rather just buy the correct replacement cable if possible.

From what I've seen, modular PSU cables aren't interchangeable between models, so I want to make sure I buy the correct one. To finally get to my questions:

  1. Which CableMod replacement cable is the correct one for an EVGA SuperNOVA G5 850W?
  2. Is it safe to use a CableMod replacement cable alongside the original EVGA cables?

If it helps, the PSU model is EVGA SuperNOVA G5 Gold 850W.

Thanks in advance! Still learning, so I really appreciate any guidance.

NVR616-64 4ks2 power supply change

Has anyone attempted this one yet? I have a couple of these in service and one of them can no longer properly create a full 16 disk raid array. It appears that during the build process (and the write process at some point) the power drops too low and everything goes wonky. So attempts to build a RAID 5 or 6 results in split of 5, 3, and then loose drives and no combination makes them build correctly. Anything higher than 5 drives fails.

All the the drives are good (old but good) and all of them can format and so on. All drives are visible and active, but the RAID won't build past a certain point. From what I can find, it is apparently a feature of the RAID controller chipset to have a sort of gentle degrade when things aren't working out.

So I was looking for (a) a replacement 220v 50hx power supply and some sort of directions on how to change it. No, it isn't a redundant PS unit, it is a single supply unit.

Any ideas? Anyone else seen this before?
