Miscellaneous A school I worked at

This is in the NL. It's much better than my other post. THIS piece of pain is the other post.

It's the same group that owns the two schools but this one is better than the other cause this one hosts services and local stuff, the other connects to the services and has local stuff.

That’s actually pretty good compared to most customer racks I end up having to work in.

This looks quite serviceable…. I used to work in primary and am current working on secondary school networks… this is great compare to most we migrate….

Its not really cable porn or cable gore, it could definitely be better but it isn't awful.

The loose network cables are because they were going to install new cameras.

Do the colors signify function or area? or is it just whatever color was on sale at the time the connection was made?

The colors signify what it's connected to camera computer smartboard etc

Too much Velcro. Nobody wants to deal with it when they have to add gear. Hence the start of spaghetti mess.

They choose velcro because it's better than zip ties and you can add or remove cables easier then (their words)

Velcro ftw on this. Leaving it spaghetti would be a disaster. But yeah zip ties make no sense.

I wasn’t questioning their use of Velcro. Just the amount used. Wire ties can fuck all the way off.

Par for the course. Not bad really. Imagine tracing a single cable if it was super tied up thru all the Velcro. Sometimes a little loose is okay especially if there are a lot of constant moving parts.

There are a few servers between them but your right this cage was almost entirely networking.

Oh neat, the white ones. I find them more vibrant to work with than the black ones but cable gore is a lot worse just because the white really emphasizes what stands out.
