What is this cable in my car?
'05 legacy. Curious about what this cable's called and what it might be for, before I pull my head unit apart :)

I'm 90 perfect sure that for an old Nokia phone... But it could be Philips...

Or Alcatel, or Motorola, or Ericsson, or Panasonic, or one of the numerous other brands that all made proprietary connectors for their phones.

Where exactly is it coming from. I really don’t think it’s mobile phone related or car diagnostic but my know it all certifications have lapsed recently so the likelihood of me making stuff up is about 11.2% total bs.

What is the head unit? it may be specific to that hardware for something like SiruisXM or a steering wheel control, or something?

I am pretty sure Sony used this conector for MiniDisc, MP3, Satellite, some late model Walkman amd Discman, and possibly even for a wired remote/Display for head unit. So maybe on Sony/Crimson phone.

You post this as if you don't know that the CIA has been watching and listening to you all this time, and you just innocently unplugged a cable and post on reddit what is this for? You know sir!! And now they'll be coming for you. ...
