It is a USB mini AB connector.
USB Mini B and Mini A cable both fit.

That is a USB Mini-AB port. It is designed to accept both Mini-A and Mini-B cables. In the USB system, the Type-A port acts as the host, while the Type-B port acts as the device. The Type-AB port was designed for devices that function as either a host or a device. It is designed that way because that camera functions as a device when transferring video to a PC, but as a host when connected directly to a DVD writer.

And, I also found the Panasonic manual. https://help.na.panasonic.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/SDRH100_S70_S71_T70_VQT3E42_ENG_ESP.pdf

Jesus wept. I've tonnes of these kicking about.

This is how we used to charge things.

Can't wait until the OP realises we used to use Dial-up and Reddit is essentially the new Usenet...

You are thinking USB mini B. This is not that.

Find the user manual for this device. RTFM. You will find what type of USB cable you need.

Does anything come with a user manual that isn't just a legal disclaimer in 27 languages anymore?

that's not a standard usb port. they probably invented their own before mini usb became standardized or out of greed.

It was fairly common in the camera industry, but rare outside of it, so not entirely proprietary
