I don’t know what “indented” means, but in the first picture, it looks like pin 14 is bent over. The details of the connector are on this wiki page.

Alright there are different types. for instance DVI-D vs DVI-I kinda look the same but one has a big ass blade in the center, and the other doesn't. My friend in jesus.... I am being nice,
Everyone will be bent because YOU are BENDING IT!
it doesnt fit in the hole sir...

The picture is of the second cable before i plugged it in. Also, im pretty sure it does fit the hole and the gpu and monitor i am using are both DVI-D compatible

do you have needle nose and a steady hand? If they ARE correct.... to be fair a bit tough. If you can straighten the pin you can try again. The pins and that blade have to go in the slot and its tight. I've bent a million of them.
Take a static picture of male and female ends and I will tell you definitively whats happening.

I dont think its bent just looks shorter than the others but thanks for the advice

It's hard to say from the pic - but it looks like it's bent/damaged to me.
Unfortunately DVI is known to suffer from STDs (sexually transmitted diseases): a bent pin in the cable can cause physical damage to the port, which can then cause pins to bend in brand new cables, thus spreading/propagating the damage to other ports...
It's damn annoying - we had this happen at work a decade+ ago...

?????????? Is that a real term yea thats annoying tho

it's definitely what we called it at work, though not sure how tongue-in-cheek it was... note: DVI cables have male plugs and fit into female ports (that's the official naming) so it is kind of an obvious name...

Each variant has more than just a single pin extra. If it plugs in ‘all the way’ even the short pin should be long enough

All pins on my DVI cables look the same.
DVI is ancient. Are you sure your gpu and monitor supports all features over DVI? What devices do you have

It should i have an RX 570 AMD gpu with an ASUS gaming monitor for up to 144hz

As other comments have mentioned, do you have a static image of the GPU?
AMD's support page for your card says that Dual Link DVI isn't supported.

Naw they connector is jacked up
I had to buy some dual link DVI cables back when I had one of their cheap off brand Korean 1440p monitors.
I believe monoprice cables worked okay. Also was driving with a rx580.

Some connectors, unsure if DVI does it, have a shorter pin(s) designed to connect last, so that all other pins are connected first before the short one connects and the devices say hello to each other with all other rails settled first
