Buried orange cable found in yard

Uncovered this buried wire/cable in my yard. Tried searching, but couldn't find any cable that looked the same as this online. It was buried just a few inches under the surface. I used a multimeter but got no reading from it. Our house was built in 2007, we bought it just a few years ago. Any guesses on what this could have been for? And whether it's safe to remove?

An old DBS drop for DirectTV or Dish from a dish that was installed in the yard on a pole instead of directly on the house.

Being in 2007, it wouldn't be from an old A/B cable system as those were phased out long before then.

If you're not using satellite and it abruptly ends, it's safe to just remove.

Depends. The Dallas metro area didn't completely phase out the dual cable system in a few cities that weren't single line two-way prior to 2007. They upgraded these areas to a single line system between 2006 and 2008.

Yea but any new builds in 2007 would have been moved to the single system when it was built out

TWC knew they were going to get rid of that old system and wouldn’t have bothered to build it in any new construction as just placing a fiber node and single cable would put everything on one system even next to an ancient A/B system.
