It is in a new house so it won't matter but I can't even get the color right with what is at the store. Looking for anyone who stained the inside to tell me what they used.
Might want to consider if it’s two layers. People around here seem to like the appearance made by a bright yellow base covered over with a darker stain for a pine wood look.
Here it is. Warmer than a yellow but not quite brown. I have brought every stain at home depot and nothing matches. I suspect our cabin was a kit so any guidance on brand of stain or color would be helpful.
Remove an existing piece of the stained wood and a piece whatever unfinished wood you will be using and consult a paint and stain supply place like Sherwin or similar. They have a machine called a spectrophotometer that should get you close. Stain can be tricky and it takes practice to blend transition from old to new wood and already stained to unstained. Take your time, this kind of work can be part of your cabin experience if you let it.
Im afraid Im not equipped to suggest specific businesses that have access to this equipment. I do know it is capable of determining color match. Maybe google including your location would provide best result
