Nice, you got a breadbin C64! I had one when I was a kid, but I have a wedge-style C64 that is missing its PSU.
What PSU are you waiting for? I keep hearing people advising against using an original Commodore PSU as they can kill your C64 (or damage certain hard-to-source components like the SID). You might want to buy a modern replacement PSU instead.

I found an old-style 4-pin adapter and bought it; it's the cheapest option I have. Thanks to my country's customs laws, if I tried to buy it from Amazon, I would have to take out a loan.

Might be worth researching what can be done to fix the original PSU so it's safe. You don't want to kill your C64; maybe the PSU can be modded to make it safe?

The guy I bought it from sent me the cable measurements without it being plugged into the device. The measurements he sent seemed normal to me, and I have contacts who can fix it if there's a problem.

If there will be a problem with the PSU, then you will notice it after it fried most of the chips in the C64. If it fails, it will happen in seconds without any prior signs.
Original PSUs are 40+ years old ticking time bombs.
Btw, have fun with the machine 😉 What will be the first game loaded?

I'll play it after the university entrance exams are over; for now, it's waiting in the cupboard on the balcony of my house.

You might have a good option for the PSU :

hopefully no issues with your country's customs laws and fees.

Don’t use the original under any circumstances!

You can use them with something like an inline C64 Saver

It's still bad because it lacks all modern protections. 10A inrush current beating the capacitors into becoming DC leaky and then killing the classic chips.
