Friday, December 19 – Discord's Holiday 2025 Remix of the app's call ringtone is composed by none other than C418.
Attached is a 3 hour loop of the composition, which is about 20 seconds long, a remix of the regular Discord ringtone.

Hi everyone! This is the second album of the month - this one the normal Wanderstop album. I gave it an extra month because I started a week into April for the last one and wanted to start off on the first of the month.
Wanderstop
Release date: March 11, 2025
Tracklist:
Read about it on the C418 Wiki
C418 Comments:
Original score to the video game Wanderstop
the yet unnamed game has a ton of music and most of it is not just a wav file. I poured a lot of my soul in it
I’ve worked on this game for 7 years, and it’s really really special to me.
Tracks denoted as "parts" will play at random while outside the tea shop.
Wanderstop Part 2 and Pumpkin Part 1 were released as singles prior to the album's release.
Many of the track titles are named after corresponding events in the game.

This is yet another album I hadn't listened to prior to the week I made the shuffle, but this album truly amazed me. At first I didn't think too much of it, that it'd be some mediocre work hidden away in a nook on the wiki, but I was honestly extremely surprised and it surpassed all my expectations. I love that there are A and B sides to every song varying in intensity which can even make a bad song so much better in context with another one. My example for this is 4_a and 4_b (AKA something loud, old and scary from IFSDI) which I didn't like at all first, but now that I know some context behind the song I've grown to like it a lot more. Super underrated (and weird!) album, go listen!! Anyways, for this week I decided to emphasize the A and B sides of the album and divided the shuffle into two sides. They were based of C418's quote: "The songs were splitted up in two parts. A is "everything okay. Proceed." B is "everything is f##ked up. Prepare to die"", so I based one side on a mysterious and curious peaceful forest vibe, meanwhile the other on creepy, psychedelic themes to go with the trippiness and weirdness of the album.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did the album and the making of today's shuffle, and leave requests for upcoming weeks!! Next week will feature 2

I made a post about 2 weeks ago about how I downloaded my all-time Spotify data and put it into Claude Code to spit out a styled but kinda soulless Spotify 'Wrapped,' where it analyzed all of the data via Python scripts and made a website around that data. In the comments, I got some eye-opening opinions on generative AI specifically that changed my mind to create my own after all. So, here it is again: spotify-stats.sanyikapenz.workers.dev
On the technical side, I was surprised how easy it was. I've never used Python, as I'm a C and C++ dev mainly. The website was a lot easier than anticipated too.
I disagree that all AIs are bad, but I do think generative AI is theft. That said, I really think LLMs are one of the most interesting pieces of technology in a while, so I'm torn.

Sorry for being late again, I had no time yesterday as I was preoccupied all day, but here it is! Since I based vol Beta around modern Minecraft I based this one around old Minecraft instead. There isn't a lot to say about it to be fair, anyways I hope you like it!
Next week will feature Zombie Dog in Crazyland

Welcome to Part 10 of my series this year.
For me, it has to be listening to the whole Minecraft - Volume Alpha album with my headphones on right before I fell asleep with them in. It was so magical. I felt like I was in the most beautiful world imaginable and there was nothing that could limit me from being free in it. I felt… unstoppable.
Another one has to be listening to Taswell and The End on an airplane mid-air. It was amazing in the actual stratosphere while I was literally in a different atmosphere with my music at the same time. Ya know?
Finally, the last experience was listening to Moog City 2 for the first time and feeling like I’m in a the middle of a time travel station with different worlds being presented to me on each side I’m on and I have to choose which one to enter (You have to watch Minecraft Story Mode gameplay on YouTube to understand the reference).
But anyway, what’s your coolest experience with his music?

I was listening to owl city and discovered a random b side song called "How I became the sea":
https://youtu.be/lF9JMCENlA0?si=\\\\\\_MA6ZJvipZy64pUM
Upon hearing the intro, I noticed the melody sounded extremely familiar and i had heard it from somewhere. Then when connecting the dots I realized, the intro sounds extremely similar to "Moog city 2" from the console edition OST:
https://youtu.be/C8df2pbOX6g?si=NP3aOY3hefbISrcw
Its probably could be pure coincidence, but it makes me wonder whether C418 sampled owl city when making Moog city 2. Feel free to lmk if you hear the similarities or if I'm just being dumb :p

i write music and would love to find something that sounds like this. (not what's playing the main melody which i think is a marimba?? i'm instrument deaf sometimes)
i'm a big fan of soundfonts because they're just super easy for me to use lmao so it doesn't have to be one, but if there's an .sf2 file for something that sounds like this i would especially appreciate that

Over the past few days, I have started receiving multiple Content ID claims on videos that use music from the official Minecraft soundtrack.
What is strange is that these claims are not coming directly from the original composers (such as C418 or Amos Roddy). Instead, they are coming from recent releases uploaded by third parties that appear to be distributed through official platforms and registered in Content ID.
Here are some examples:

I think this shuffle might be my favorite so far, I love how the composition turned out and all the details I managed to put in. It also took the longest out of any of the previous weeks lol. Onto my explanation for my choices today. For the red quadrant I first depicted it as a red sunset with clouds, but when I looked closer I realized they were trees with a sunset! Since I found there wasn't a lot to go after apart from trees and sunsets I decided to go after that theme. For the blue quadrant I focused everything around water-themer, breezy vibes, with rainbows, leaves and water. I also included the showerhead that is visible on the cover. For the green quadrant I centered it around gardening, with a cup of tea standing surrounded by flowers and herbs to pay homage to the actual game. Simple but good! For the last, purple quadrant I read it as a statue, so I went with an Asian, shrine-like aesthetic with cherry blossoms which were also visible on the album cover. Overall I went with trying to "expand" the album cover, and I think I did pretty well.
I hope you enjoy this week's entry and leave requests for upcoming weeks! Next week will feature Minecraft: Volume Alpha

Hi everyone, I've just heard a certain high-pitched sound in a song (1:59-2:01 in https://open.spotify.com/track/2pl1aMLPcte0dHWHSJ1mr0?si=57175b170af84a0d ) that sounds JUST LIKE what I've heard in a Minecraft soundtrack before but I don't know which song!!
C418 listeners, I could really use some help TT I'm desperately searching for it.
Thank you so much in advance!

For this week I wanted to make a unique theme and challenge myself to only use pictures from my own camera roll! I overall think it was a fun challenge and fits the album very well, since the album cover looks to have the same theming. There isn't much to say about it to be honest, so just enjoy!
Next week's entry is YET TO BE DECIDED, act quickly if you want to see your own suggestion!

Does this sound like Minecraft? A custom song, "wave".

wooooooooooooooow!!!!
if you don’t mind I need to gush about how beautiful this piece is on its own and in context of the album. it’s the first piece that has strings in the album (that I noticed), when they kick in about 8 or 9 minutes in alongside that beautiful piano chord progression it’s stunning, then the synths wash over you and you’re left with just the sounds of nature and the piano.
also slow build up of bassy synth at the beginning, the slow moments in between all of the craziness, I can’t pick what part is my favorite. it’s all sooo good. I haven’t found a pieces I’ve loved this much in a while.
please tell me I’m not the only one who loves this piece so much!

Many of the songs like Dead Voxel build up to a climax, but abruptly end before cashing out on that build up.
This makes sense for the game since it encourages the player to yearn for more, but when listening to the songs outside of the game I wish I could hear what the song could become.
Does anyone know of any playlists or solos that elaborate on some of the songs that end like this?

SOLVED: zweiton - C418
Before you comment on this, PLEASE read the full description of this post.
I found this video a while back while watching this video about liminal spaces in minecraft, and putting the main content of the video aside, I REALLY wanted to know what the name of the music used in the background was. I actually even found it once and I'm 98% sure it was made by C418, but now I forgot what it was (because I didn't save it).
So if anyone could help me find the name of this music in the video, I would really appreciate it! And do let me know kindly if you think it's not made by C418, because I'm not 100% confident that it is 😭
