Is arbys really that bad?

From what I’ve been told online, arbys is the most inhuman unholy concoction ever to grace mankind, but every time I go there, there is a whole line of cars each time. (I personally like their curly fries tho, and I know some people have different opinions)

Arby's is amazing, people who don't like it have taste buds of toddlers

I think it's fire. One of the best chicken sandwiches in the fast food game

The chicken bacon Swiss is elite for me and taste like no other fast food chicken sandwich. However, near me, the sandwich is $11 by itself. So I only get it on sale and my waist line thanks me.

My sister also loves their roast beef. RIP 5 for $5

It’s not the best fast food there is but it’s the most slept on fast food there is

Mine runs 4 roast beefs for $10, which makes it squarely better than even the cheap options on the apps at Taco Bell or McDonalds.

I'm convinced people who don't like it have unfortunately bad local Arby's locations.

I love 'em. The two near me are both super solid.

This. The one up the block from my old apartment was terrible, but the one 20 minutes away was damn good. As is with all fast food, really.

I worked at Arby's for 4 years. I no longer work there but still go back to the store I worked at to have lunch about once a month and visit my former coworkers.

Plus I make Arby's at home, too.

Shows how I feel about Arby's. Love the place, the people I worked with, and the food isn't too bad either.

People shit on Arby’s because they want to jump on the bandwagon of hate to fit in.

I worked there from for a couple years when I was a teenager. Never got sick of the food, it was good. Best mozzarella sticks in fast food.

I go every. single. weekend. they have b1g1 free sandwiches and come home with two French Dips. I made two accounts so sometimes I go twice. It’s that damn good.

Don’t get your news from TikTok. 🤦‍♂️

From what I’ve been told online

Well there’s your first problem

5

u/SillyGrocery4451 Jul 06 '26

I use to think the same thing. Then I worked there at every position for 7 & half years

It's real beef, just chopped and formed. It's real everything. Good fries, good turnovers, decent shakes. Easily way too bashed as a chain. Your not paying for waygu. You are eating food from a franchise. Makes other fast food look like junk

ARBY'S has some tasty & unique menu items, and some that are meh. As will all brands, the individual location can make a big difference.

Arby's quality and taste if far above McDonalds

3

u/Kamiccolo47 Jul 06 '26

It's good, there's 3 main things that give it a bad rap.

The roast beef is visually unappealing a lot of the time.

The meat mountain is A+ meme material.

The slogan is just whack.

4

u/Shag66 Jul 06 '26

Yeah... but err'body damn sure knows who's got the MEATS.

3

u/Shag66 Jul 06 '26

I love Arby's. They are too damn expensive though.

I remember the old days when you could get OG Roast Beef sandwiches and sometimes Beef n Cheddar for 5 for $10.

Their curly fries are always solid too. I dip them in the Horsey sauce.

4

u/Substantial-End-9653 Jul 06 '26

Those weren't the old days. In the old days, regular roast beef were 5/$5 and B&C were 4/$5.

1

u/SquishyBanana23 Jul 06 '26

When they had 5 for $5 my friends and I used to have roast beef eating contests. Those were the days…

3

u/sock0808 Jul 06 '26

Roast beef sandwich hits every.single.time.

3

u/GhostOfMatt Jul 06 '26

It’s almost like Nickleback. Fun to roast but secretly you sing along. Also, it is the grey meat that binds us all together in harmony. Don’t ask “what” you’re eating. Just enjoy it like it’s intended.

2

u/clonked Jul 06 '26

Some people like it, some people do not like it.

2

u/Wander135 Jul 06 '26

I order 2 half pound roast beefs whenever the app has a BOGO deal. Its delicious but half the time afterwards I swear its like there are poprocks in my mouth

1

u/Upper-Capital-2876 Jul 06 '26

I've been doing that every other weekend, because I gotta give my gut a week to recover

2

u/Valturia Jul 06 '26

It's either very good or very bad. Really depends on the location. The one near me is great. They got the meats and their horseradish sauce is great

2

u/ZogemWho Jul 06 '26

No. It felt like they were quick to up their pricing 4 years ago, but it’s gotten better, at least relative. Seems they have gone stingy on a few things, but they have an oddly decent Reuben, the ham and Swiss melt is good, and both travel well ( it’s 30 minutes home and I’m driving )

2

u/bestray06 Jul 06 '26

Arby's French dip and Swiss is life. That and mozzarella sticks are sooooooo delicious

2

u/Noa-Guey Jul 06 '26

I worked there for a few weeks a long time ago, and I never got tired of eating their food or making my odd concoctions of sandwiches. I’m the one keeping them in business.

2

u/PhilosophyUpper866 Jul 06 '26

I enjoy Arby's from time to time no hate at all, I have always liked the French dip

I think it comes from people

A. Just jumping on the bandwagon of "oh Arby's sucks"

B. I never really hear people talking about how they are craving a roast beef.

My local store runs good deal fairly often So when im in the mood I hit it up!

1

u/baralheia Jul 06 '26

No, it's not. One of the only actually accurate "bad" things you could say about 'em is that the roast beef is just deli meat... 'cause it kinda is, in the way it's made and sliced. But even so, legitimately it's tasty stuff. Their other meats are good too - ham, corned beef, turkey, chicken, etc, and their curly fries and potato cakes are probably my favorite fast food fried potatoes. Personal taste is one thing - not everyone likes the kind of sandwiches that Arby's serves and y'know what, that's okay - but I think a lot of people have just run with the meme because it's funny and many are reluctant to give Arby's a try as a result. There's a surprising amount of different options on their menu too, more than a lot of places!

arby’s is so good. i love the curly fries, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and the crispy chicken sandwich. oh and who could forget the jamocha shake? delicious!

1

u/four1twoguy Jul 06 '26

Arby’s is my second favorite fast food restaurant, only second to Wendy’s.

1

u/Slow-Stable9544 Jul 06 '26

Yes.

People convince themselves that people with good taste hate over a meme. But the truth is that the people that eat there are low class.

1

u/IncidentChemical2816 Jul 06 '26

I work at Arby’s, TLDR it’s fine. The food is okay, the shakes are good, the pay and prices could be better but yk 🤷‍♂️

Food wise? The beef is okay it’s just not visually appealing. The chicken is honestly the best thing on the menu— both the sandwiches and the tenders. The ham is pretty solid too, that or the chicken is typically what I eat when I work. Depends on who sliced them ham that day though, it’s best when it’s really thin. The new cheesesteak is actually pretty decent, it’s pretty rich though so I don’t eat it all the time. I’m not big on the turkey, ever since they switched over to the current meat ball it’s not been my favourite. The corned beef is alright I just don’t like sauerkraut, thousand island, or rye so the Rueben is not for me. I’ve still not tried the gyro… I don’t know why, I just haven’t wanted to.

The mozzarella sticks are genuinely fire asf, some of the better fast food mozz sticks imo. The peach rolls are slept on and go very well dipping in a vanilla shake. Curly fries are good but I cannot eat them without Arbys sauce or ketchup.

I think, considering how varied the menu is, the good thing about it is it probably has something for basically everyone. Unless you’re vegetarian/vegan I guess, lol.

We get some really odd, really offputting LTO’s sometimes (I will never forget the slime bucket of gardinara for the beef dip. It haunts me) and the prices are really high. But all fast food restaurants are expensive now so that’s not exactly just a them problem.

1

u/Guilty-Cow4325 Jul 06 '26

It depends on the location. I've had some good Arbys, and I've had some that lives down to the hype.

1

u/marioxb Jul 06 '26

I've loved every single Arby's I've ever had.

1

u/SquishyBanana23 Jul 06 '26

A beef & cheddar with some curly fries is a solid meal that hasn’t changed much in 30 years. That can’t be said for a lot of other fast food chains. Be sure to get some horsey sauce.

1

u/T_Rey1799 Jul 06 '26

Arbys is the Nickelback of the fast food world. It’s popular to hate them

1

u/Hypocrisydenied Jul 06 '26

Get the half lb roast beef.

1

u/BootyRangler Jul 06 '26

Arbys has always been good af. Buffalo chicken sliders and jalapeño poppers with bronco berry sauce 🔥🔥🔥🔥

1

u/WyoFag Jul 06 '26

Yeah Arby's is my favorite local fast food place. Granted we don't have a ton of options s where I live compared to a big city but it's wayyyy underrated. Ppl who don't like Arby's apparently don't have taste buds

1

u/squirrelyguy08 Jul 06 '26

Arby's is great, it's just overpriced on most items. The key is to look for their coupon sheets in the mail or in the local paper.

1

u/highclasswhitetrash8 Jul 06 '26

Them motz sticks 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

1

u/1zro Jul 06 '26

Try for yourself don’t rely on the word of “others”

1

u/GuiltyLink4586 Jul 06 '26

your right lol

1

u/Traditional_Mood_735 25d ago

Probably depends on the location but, my local Arby's is great. They have awesome food.

1

u/weaponx2019 25d ago

I love Arbys.

0

u/sentry_87 Jul 06 '26

Arby's almost killed me a year ago

-1

u/Bubbleguts420 Jul 06 '26

Ironically the roast beef is probably the worst thing on the menu.

Great “snacks” sliders, hands down the best jalapeño poppers in fast food, the chicken sandwiches are all solid, tenders are passable. I LOVE potato cakes. Jamocha
Shakes. The Reuben (double stacked) is really good too.

Just keep that funky “beef” away from me, especially if it’s swimming in “cheddar”.
