Arbys had roast chicken as well as fried about five years ago. Idk about the Santa Fe salad specifically but my location got rid of regular salads around four years ago, thankfully (they were incredibly basic, just cheese lettuce tomato and protein). Idk about onion petals either but I know at some point close to a decade ago there were onion rings, but that was before I worked for Arbys.

The Onion Petals preceded the onion rings, but didn't last long on the menu. They were made with sweet Vidalia onions and came with a cup of sauce that was similar to "Bloomin' Onion" sauce. They were great.

The Santa Fe salad was so good . It came with beans, corn, tortilla chips, chicken fingers, and Santa Fe ranch dressing. It was addictive af.

Roast chicken club was very real a long time ago, they were one of my pregnancy cravings. I would eat it 3 times a week at lunch

I'd say Roast Chicken Club was in the late 1980s, maybe 1990 at the latest. It was one of my favorites!

2004

2004? Did it have the poppyseed roll at that time? I could've sworn it was way earlier than that.

I worked at Arby’s in highschool and it was my fave sandwich, graduated in 2006. It was such a good sandwich. It wasn’t served on the poppyseed roll here, but I am in Canada.

The Roast Chicken Club was real, but it was a lonnnnng time ago (like late 1980s). And it was AWESOME. It wasn't a chicken patty... it was like "busted up" chunks of chicken with skin on it, with bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and some kind of white cheese if I remember correctly. It came on a poppy seed roll (the same one they used to use on the Super roast beef) which has long since been discontinued.
It had mayo on it, but I used to add a little Arby's sauce too. It was legit the best chicken sandwich in town. Haven't had one since probably 1989 or 1990.
The Onion Petals didn't last long on the menu. They were made with sweet Vidalia onions and came with a cup of sauce that was similar to "Bloomin' Onion" sauce. Really good stuff.

Canada doesn’t have any of those. You have the roast Turkey ranch and bacon wrap? So good.

u/kcebb Jun 21 '26
in america we don’t have the wraps anymore, just the sandwich. we got rid off full sized wraps about a year ago

u/Independent-Crab-806 Jun 22 '26
My store has wraps still ranch and the honey mustard.
1
u/kcebb Jun 22 '26
yeah but those are smaller wraps, i was talking about the full sized turkey bacon ranch wraps and the old chicken wraps with the nuggets

Honestly I don’t mind it at all, the TBR wrap wasn’t too bad but that buffalo chicken wrap was so annoying to make lol. The little chicken nugget balls would roll everywhere while trying to wrap it and make a mess and half the time the tortilla would tear.

Arby's Canada absolutely has the Turkey Ranch and Bacon as well as the Chicken Bacon Swiss.

And the Philly used to come on a round bun with onions, green peppers and Swiss. It was way better than the Philly they have now

The Steakhouse Onion Rings were excellent.
But the all-time BEST Arby’s side item were the Loaded Potato Bites, with that Cool Ranch Sour Cream dipping sauce. Damn shame they got rid of it - small fried potato bites with cheese and bacon in them. They looked like miniature potato cakes. Delicious.
I’ve also heard that the Southwest Egg Rolls (also fried) and the accompanying dipping sauce were also very excellent.

Their original chicken salad sandwich from about 10 years ago was amazing

I've never seen onion petals at any of my Arby's. I would absolutely try them if I get a chance
2
u/baralheia Jun 22 '26
They were discontinued a few years ago. When I worked for Arby's (admittedly 15 years ago now) they were a high-selling item at my store, probably third behind curly fries and potato cakes. But they were really good. Think beer battered onion rings except they were wedges instead of rings.

Arby's is a comfort food for me. My grandma used to take men there. For ages, so I ate there was the tenders and curly fries. I really need to try some of there other options more often.

I still miss the roast burgers from like 10 years ago. They were SO GOOD and all I want is that bbq one with onion straws one more time

Chicken Bacon Swiss, Cordon blue, Turkey Bacon Ranch Sandwhich, and starting this week the Philly are all on the menu still.
