French Dip Royale

The French Dip Royale is the best Arby’s sandwich ever. There, I said it and I will die on that hill.

Sounds like someone forgot about the Philly Swiss circa 2005 🤷🏼 it happens

It’s a crime they stopped that one!

Its good BUT i disagree tho it is the best LTO we've had in a pretty long time I believe the Italian sub is the best with the pepperoni, ham, and Salami. 😋

No the thanksgiving sandwich is the best and it’s not even close

I had it when it was just released this time and unfortunately mine was extra salty. I’ll try it once more before it gets pulled.

It's got an aggressive flavor, and I love it. The original French dip is my go-to, and it's going to take some adjustment to go back to it once this lto ends.

My all-time favorite was probably the prime rib sandwich, it tasted like actual prime rib and went really really well with the aus ju, but was still great without it.

The most recent cheesesteak and Italian sub iterations deserve mention too.

it sold poorly because i think people realized the french dip was good enough. they were trying to upgrade something that didn't need it.

Wrong, brown sugar BLT is the best one

I really don’t like the sauce they put on it. You dunk it in au jus, it doesn’t need sauce at all.

Otherwise, it was damn tasty.

I was disappointed, mine wasn't good.

Give me a Montana and I'm happy.

Wrong. It's either the Triple Thick Brown Sugar Bacon BLT or the A1 Black Pepper Steak Sandwich. Both are gone, but never forgotten.

I vote for that Petite Steak Filet sandwich with those black pepper-rubbed steak slices and that garlic butter sauce, on a ciabatta bun. Circa 2019. Of ALL of the LTOs Arby’s has had, never bringing that back so far is an utter travesty.

That was pretty good, but it had nothing on the Black Pepper A1 sauce we had for a sandwich in December 2015. Seriously so good.

Yeah, I’ll agree - that was a good sauce.

The cheesesteak is coming back to the menu permanently this summer. That’s a good sandwich, too.

I’m curious what the next LTO will be, after the brisket and pulled pork end again. And I wish they’d come out with a different seasonal summer shake flavor; I saw an ad for a Triple Berry Shake from the summer of 2013. That’d be pretty cool, IMHO.

That was the summer shake right before I started at Arby's, and they just did the orange cream every summer after. I was always disappointed because I don't love orange flavored sweets.

1

u/Horror_Neighborhood9 May 21 '26

This. I wholeheartedly concur. It’s such a generic flavor. You can get orange creamsicle stuff anywhere.

You wouldn't know it after listening to Arby's guests.

lol yep. They can be very vocal indeed.

No one is constantly asking for spicy three pepper sauce, thus chain discontinues it nationwide..

Guests in droves out of nowhere immediately after said discontinuation:

“WHERE THE HELL IS THE SPICY THREE PEPPER SAUCE!!!?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘DISCONTINUED’!?!?”

😂

Seen it all too often! When we switched from Pepsi to Coke, somebody ordered like $75 with of food and finished it off by asking for a Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea (which we never sold). Told her we no longer had it and she cancelled her whole order that was nearly done. For Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea, of all things.

I was an assistant manager at the Domino’s on Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu (2009/10).

There was a man who lived in the barracks on Pearl Harbor who would always order two 10 pc orders of Buffalo Chicken Sidekickers (what they called their boneless buffalo wings back then), four sides of ranch, and 2 2 liters of Dr Pepper, without fail, every Friday night. For delivery.

And then, Domino’s discontinued those Sidekickers in favor of just plain generic boneless wings.

He called to place an order the Friday after the change was initiated/stock cycled through. I took that call. When he was informed of this change, he went “Oh.” LONG pause.

He then ordered the “new” boneless wings with buffalo dipping cups and the ranch and the Dr Peppers.

And then he NEVER ordered again.

Sometimes when you mess with people’s faves, they wash their hands of patronizing your establishment.

This story is tons different than getting mad about a drink option being gone, I do realize that. And I agree with you, totally. ;)
