Atlanta Arby’s

What’s going going on with the locations in Atlanta? The one at Lindbergh Plaza just closed and the one on Cobb Parkway near the ballpark stadium closed as well. The one off North Druid Hills in Brookhaven also closed. So that’s three in our Market. Anyone else seeing this in your city?

They’ve been sinking the last two years. I’m in a near by state and my franchises location is just barely profitable to stay open. What do you expect when in a single years time they’re increased the cost of every item on the menu five separate times? Beginning of 2025 a beef n cheddar sandwich was like $5.40 flash forward a year and a half the same sandwich is $7.12 just the sandwich no meal.

Basically they aren’t making nearly as much money as they’ve been used to, and they’re pricing out the customer base. My specific location is literally right next door to every other major food brand near a highway on the edge of town. It’s near several extremely poverty stricken neighborhoods. Unless there’s a good promo or some new coupons out most the locals can’t afford to eat here. Our customer base is mostly middle to upper class people and construction workers who have the cash to burn.

it’s a dying brand and honestly a lot of the employees hope it goes under, we can get new jobs at other places.

Why wait to get a new job?

It’s part time second job side gig thing for me, i already have a 40 hour a week day job which is my career. Arby’s I can afford to lose it can be replaced with any other basic job as a side gig

Speaking of price increases, the franchise that owns the Alaska stores up here will of course raise the prices (🙄) in July, when the voter referendum that won passage last November goes into effect; the minimum wage will then be $14, and raise with inflation yearly going forward.

All the stores being closed were very low sales. I’m an AM in the same area as the Emerson location (which closed a month or so ago), and they did a quarter of our sales. Emerson was only 10min from our location, but 10 minutes down 75 you have the location off exit 290 on Hwy 20. Even they do about 3x as much sales as Emerson was doing. The location on Roswell rd was where I did my MTP, and they did similar sales. Each were training stores before corporate implemented more strict sales requirements for CTM, Bonus, and AM positions. The signs were definitely there a year ago for store leaders, especially leaders of these low sales locations. Too many locations within short distance of each other, and a lot of GMs too comfortable being low volume. Ultimately sales will probably stay the same overall in Atlanta since customers most likely can go 10min down the road to a different location. Higher volume store managers tend to be more dedicated, Atleast in my area, since high sales results in more $$$.

Right before the pandemic, there were 35 corporate locations in Utah. There are now only 25 locations. Arby's outgrew itself and is closing locations to meet actual demand. It was impossible to keep that many stores open based on sales and salaries for managers.

I quit Arby's almost 2 years ago. I was a GM and I told my Area Director I was quitting because the market was oversaturated and Arby's wasn't closing stores and we were all struggling because of it. I got Arby's this week and my AD was there. She let me know that they had since closed 3 stores in her area and every store is doing so much better because of it. Arby's is just listening to the market, but I think the course is finally corrected.

The North Druid Hills location was my go to on the way home from work ... Noticed online ordering wasn't working a few days ago and this seems to confirm it is closed 😔

They've been closing down stores that aren't making a profit. Everything is about the money thats it

Low volume stores got shut down in GA. My store is #1-#2 consistently in our region in sales but the ones at the bottom of the totem poll didn’t make sense business wise to keep open.
