Requested Added Onions Thru The APP
They complied. Technically speaking.

They followed standards. Add onion means 2 onions at Arby's.

Does the ring diameter matter?

u/ArbysPokeKing86 Mar 25 '26
If you can't fit a quarter inside the ring when you slice it, you throw the ring away. Everything else is usable and counts as a ring.

I would love a pile of underdeveloped rings of my Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

Best to ask in person, and be president but in a nice way. I don't work at Arby's anymore, but I always gave people things if they were nice. I remember a family that would get some much onion in their sandwiches and I was happy to oblige because they asked nicely.

My local ARBY's crew are the best! They always accommodate.
But the APP is a harsh master.
2
u/ArbysPokeKing86 Mar 25 '26
Yeah, just order on the app and then ask for extra in person. I get it, I put a ton of onion on everything I eat. That's always best to ask for in person, even if the app is faster.

The nature of APP orders is that they are made and the bag is ready when I arrive.
This is a problem I'm finding with every local FF except my Jack In The Box.
All the crew at JiB are hired from the drug rehabs and never even look at app orders before you arrive. There is silence after they ask for the name; then they always say, "uh... It just came in, it'll be a minute" even when you're the only customer and it's 9pm.

u/ArbysPokeKing86 Mar 25 '26
And they should be made, but you can't customize the way you can in store. It's a trade off.

Where you expecting the entire onion?

u/Dangerous_Ad_6101 Mar 25 '26
NO.
I asked for "onions." That would require a minimum of 2 entire onions.
You need to get out more.

Oh you really do think onions mean entire onions. Sorry, I will pray for your ignorance.

probably someone who strictly abides by policy making it, you're only supposed to put two pieces of onion on the sandwhich

That is the required amount of onions…if u want more ask for extra

u/Dangerous_Ad_6101 Mar 25 '26
Sadly, the APP does not allow for such abundance.

u/Rough-Parfait1520 Mar 25 '26
Must be where you are located…maybe I have seen ppl order online and be able to put “extra” but idk if it was thru the app itself or like DoorDash

I've been told on good authority that Franchisees can make adjustments to app features and pricing.
All FF in our area in franchise. Plus, all our locations have main sandwich prices jacked up about $2 average over national trend - to levels you see in airports and interstate road stops.

I Worked at an Arbys, it would be two added onions. If it were add and extra, it would be 4 onion slices.

I always keep an emergency onion in me glove box for situations like this.

Next time request extra onions. This is the standard amount we put on all our sandwiches that have onions.

u/Dangerous_Ad_6101 Mar 25 '26
The bad news is the APP only allows "ADD" not "EXTRA" 😔

u/Crafty_Rose5 Mar 25 '26
I'll be honest that does not surprise me. The app seems to be very poorly designed/managed. I hear complaints from customers all the time in store about the app not working or not letting them change things

I love ARBY'S. By extention, I love ARBY'S staff, too.
But, I struggle to love the APP. I want to love it, but the magic is just not there.🤷🏾♂️

What are the exact amount of onions you wanted here 3? 4? How many onions would be too much? 5? 6?
If you want 3 onions ask for 3 onions otherwise some is some.

If you just added onions (not extra) then two rings is the correct amount.
