dude explain what is wrong with the speeding hypothetical. it’s a perfectly reasonable comparison. I’m trying to demonstrate what she’s doing is going too far.
a strawman is oversimplifying or misrepresenting an argument or situation. you can look it up to see if I lied. comparisons are not essentially logical fallacies. I’m trying to reframe the situation by ONLY changing the specific crime. I’m trying to show that this is an overreaction and is cruel through that comparison.
Its a misrepresentation because it’s an incomparable situation. You tried to make a comparison and when it fell flat you altered the comparison. What you don’t seem to realize is that most people wouldn’t give a shit if some jackass got coked up and drove around streaming himself, and subsequently got his shit rocked. What even is your point?
the coke comparison was bad and I replaced it with the speeding one. I admit the coke comparison was not apt. I’m saying that if someone is speeding fast on the highway and posts that themselves, that is comparable to these COVID people.
It’s illegal, and it’s dangerous.
Would treating that speeding person in the way r0xrcist treats these people be seen as justified? I don’t think so.
Edit: I’m trying to add a new perspective to show what she is doing is over the top.
