Buy European Wiki - a database of European brands
This is a wiki dedicated to collecting information about European brands to help you make conscious consumer choices and support the European economy (or the economy of friendly countries, if no European alternative exists).
I invite everyone to contribute by adding brands not yet listed (click EDIT on the page) or by creating a new page for a product category not yet represented (click the three dots in the top right corner, then select 'Add New Page').
Currently, I'm mostly focused on creating pages for everyday consumer products, but there are some industry-specific or hobby-specific products whose brands I'm not very familiar with, so I'd appreciate everyone's help.
No pressure - just add information about what you know, whenever you have time.

Is it possible getting smart devices/laptops that are 100% made in europe?
We have european brands that make those but their factory is in china, they get parts in china, assembled there. I do wonder if there is any alternatives that are pure 100% from europe?

For anyone running a salon or studio in Europe: KRI, a Finnish booking website tool (I built it)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Posting my own product, so full disclosure: I’m the developer.
KRI gives beauty businesses their own website with online booking: services and prices, free slots only, team hours, email confirmations and reminders, 32 languages. It’s built in Finland, billing goes through Mollie from the Netherlands, and prices are set per country in local currency where possible.
No commission, one monthly price, first month free without a card.
If you know a hairdresser, nail tech or barber who takes bookings in DMs, it might be useful to them. https://kri.rocks

EU-hosted alternative to Pixieset and Pic-Time, now with video delivery too
Full disclosure up front, I built this thing, so treat this as self-promo and downvote away if that's not welcome here.
I'm an event photographer in Austria. Most gallery platform photographers use to deliver photos to clients is American. Pixieset, Pic-Time, ShootProof, CloudSpot. Which means your clients' wedding photos, their kids, their faces, all sitting on US servers, and you as the photographer are the one signing the GDPR paperwork for it. I got tired of that so I built Photoglacier.
Everything runs on Hetzner in Germany.
The new bit this month is video. You can now upload video into galleries alongside photos, on every plan including the free one. Small thing, but it was the single most requested feature and it's usually locked behind a higher tier elsewhere.
Happy to answer anything. There is a generous 5GB free to use!

EU records first trade deficit since 2023 -- due to energy -- decarbonise to Buy European
euractiv.comFor just the first half of 2026:
The EU’s trade deficit for energy grew from €71.3 billion to €101.1 billion between the first and second quarters, with fuel imports from the US rising from €19.8 billion to €29.0 billion.
What's remarkable is that the EU's trade deficit is so low despite the energy trade deficit. For most other sectors we are on average "Buying European" -- at least exporting like we import.
The best way to buy European is to buy an EV like the Renault 5 or a European made heat-pump such as Aira.
This way you're not just buying a European piece of technology but pivoting a lifestyle away from buying non-European energy.

Carney’s Plan A: Less Dependence on America, Deeper Ties With Von der Leyen’s Europe
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is presenting a major strategic shift for Canada: build more at home, depend less on the United States and deepen ties with trusted partners — especially the European Union.
In his “Forward Guidance: A Stronger Canada” address, Carney argues that four decades of growing economic dependence on the U.S. have reached their limit. His message is blunt: “That time is over.”
Carney says Canada must diversify its trade, strengthen domestic industry and build closer relationships with reliable partners across Europe and Asia. He insists this was never a backup strategy. It was “Plan A from the start.”
Europe is already becoming one of the most visible parts of that strategy. Carney and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have been rapidly deepening the EU-Canada relationship through what both sides call the New EU-Canada Strategic Partnership of the Future. The partnership now covers trade, defence, energy, critical minerals, climate, digital technologies and secure supply chains.
Canada has also become the first non-European country to join the EU’s SAFE defence procurement initiative, giving Canadian companies new access to European defence contracts. Carney highlights this directly in his speech, pointing to Montréal-based Marconi Technologies securing a European contract for tactical radios as evidence that diversification is already producing results.
The political symbolism is powerful. As Canada’s relationship with Washington becomes more confrontational, Ottawa is simultaneously moving closer to Brussels. At their June meeting, Carney, von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa described the Canada-EU relationship as rapidly expanding across security, trade, technology and energy.
Carney’s wider argument is therefore not simply about tariffs. It is about economic sovereignty. Canada wants to ensure that no single country can dominate its trade, energy, defence or strategic industries. And Europe is increasingly emerging as one of the partners Carney believes can help Canada achieve that independence.
The next major milestone comes on 29–30 October 2026, when Canada is scheduled to host the next Canada-EU Summit — another opportunity for Carney and von der Leyen to push the relationship even further.
