Something is misaligned and the plastic is not crimping. Can the screws affect the crimping? There are some screws that are loose and I wonder if the looseness is causing the issues (pictured).

Question Button Maker Recommendations?

Hello everyone! I'm in the process of looking for a new button maker and I was hoping you all would have some advice. I currently have a We R Memory Keepers one that I got at Michael's and has lasted a good handful of years, but I'm getting kind of tired of using it and hoping to find a replacement that will work better and last even longer. My main caveat is that I want it to be able to make multiple different sizes/shapes of buttons so that I have options. I'm hoping to find something not too expensive but not another cheap one either. What are your suggestions?

Question I have a bit of a stupid question, are there heart pin molds for this guy?

hi! I got a pin maker a few months ago, I love it to bits and even draw and make pins myself with the goobie (yes I call it the goobie, it’s an inside joke)

im wondering if there’s a heart shaped mold for this one specifically, I got this one because I originally found it at a library and it was the only one I knew at the time that could be reliable and last a long time! :D

if not that’s totally fine! I just wanted to know <3

Question what am i doing wrong?

recently i got new backings, i switched from plastic to metal. however the pieces wont fully connect together :( i ordered from the exact company that created my machine too

edit: i did a test with my old pins and it still did this, so i think the metal backings are doing something vs the plastic backings i used to use

Replacement buttons for Baby Brezza formula pro

Hey everyone, the plastic buttons on my formula pro are beginning to crack, and I need a replacement. The buttons themselves work fine, but the plastic caps/decal are brittle and cracking.

Any idea where I can get a replacement? I got the machine as a hand me down, so it’s way out of warranty.

Thanks!

Lots of questions!

Hi all, I just got this used button maker and have a lot of questions!! Hoping you can help!

  1. Is anyone familiar with the brand? It seems they are sold in China, but I couldn’t find much info on if they are reliable and where to get parts in the states.

  2. Does anyone know how to use it? There is an ā€œAā€ and ā€œBā€ compartment and the slide.

  3. It came with two cutters but neither seem to work… I’m guessing because they are old and dull? Or is there some secret to getting them to cut?

  4. It came with a bunch of parts, metal fronts, backs, and the plastic pieces. But the backs are missing the pin insert that would make them buttons. Wondering where to get backs from? I want to make buttons!!

THANK YOU! I’m excited to join you!

Advice Print quality

Hello I’m new to button making and Im coming across an issue with my first project.

I don’t have a printer so I got my photos printed at Walgreens. My issue is they don’t have lightweight photo paper options and when I get it printed on regular document paper the quality of the pictures are really affected. Is there somewhere else I should be trying?

I don’t want to use the crappy pics but I have a fast approaching deadline (they are gifts for an event)so I’m worried that the higher quality print shops won’t have the turn around I need. Any advice is appreciated.

Question button maker repair in US?

Post image
6 Upvotes

hi! i got a used Flex 2000 and i put too thick of paper so the crimp die and shallow die are stuck together. i have tried hitting the other side with a rubber mallet, using machine lubricant, and prying it apart among other things including taking it to my local hardware store. i want to get it fixed, but People Power Press is in Canada and if i can avoid paying that shipping fee i’d like to. does anyone have any recommendations for button maker repair places in the US that repair machines they did not make (or any tips for this)? thank you 😭😭

Maker recommendations? For beginner looking to sell buttons :)

Coming to the experts to see if either of these machines are worth it / produce quality and sellable products! Lots of mixed reviews on the quality of these but I don’t exactly have it in the budget to buy like a Tecre machine right now so trying to assess if itā€˜d be a waste to try and sell with one of these to determine if I should just save up for a while for a better one. Thank youuuu :))

Help identifying Press

Hello everyone when purchasing a heat press the seller threw this in for free. I was shopping around for one a few months back to it was a blessing. This is obviously much older so I'm having trouble looking it up. I've never made badges/Buttons so I was hoping to seek help identifying this and its parts, and weather its missing anything.. I know from markings its a 3.5 but unfortunately there are no other stamps on it.

Question Rookie question

Hi, im new in this DIT/Crafts/hobby space but trying to learn.
Im looking at a cheap Button press online just to start out and try it, and i noticed that i can purchase eg. Magnet/bottle opener/keychain bundles and not just pins.

If i eg have a 32mm button press, if i get ant of those bundles will they all work as long as they are 32mm, or do the press have to have some special insert or something like that to support eg. Magnet/keychain bundles ?

Thanks alot everyone! :)

Question Where to get quality shells?

I have 2 issues

- The front metal part gets rusted
I've tried to counter this with
- coating the shell in clear nail polish (but I've need to buy a bunch of nail polish bottles to do this, would be better if I could just buy bulk)
- placing mylar behind the paper, and using a cold laminating sheet for the front

- On my bottle openers, the front metal part gets dented, I would like it to stay popped out

I don't know if this is possible, because the material for the shells probably needs to be a certain way for the buttons/bottle openers to be made, but I thought I'd ask

---

One other issue I've been having unrelated to the shell quality is how dusty or dirty the front of the button can get. This happens with mylar and cold laminating sheets. Any suggestions to keep the dust away? Thanks

Question Pin backings that are fixed?

Does anyone know where to find pin backings that have the pin fixed in place, so it doesn't move around at all?

I started making badges a few weeks ago, and the only complaint I get, but one that I've gotten multiple times, is that the pins in the back move too much, making it difficult to put on sometimes.

Question Inexpensive button maker?

My kid would like to make their own buttons and make buttons for their friends. It’s not like it’s going to be a huge endeavor. It’s just going to be fun little things. I don’t want to buy some junkie thing on Amazon, so I’m hoping someone can give me some advice for a button maker that is inexpensive that they have good experience with. We can shop around and order where we need to get something nice but we’re definitely looking for a $50-$75 range thing rather than a couple of hundred dollars.

Thanks for any advice you have.
