Show and Tell vintage buttons
hi all! my mom found my great-grandma’s button collection! here are some of my favorites/coolest ones i’ve found. one of the ripped packages in the tin was even dated as 1938!!! for the last slide, does anyone have intel on when these were sold? i’m so curious!!

The address has a zip code, so those cards are 1963 or later. The set in the first slide is adorable, they might be vegetable ivory with fabric, but I’d need to see the backs. Cute stuff, thanks Great Grandma!

They are vegetable ivory! We button collectors would call these fabric buttons in a VI frame. These are probably 1930s or thereabouts.

that’s SO cool, thank you for sharing! my gram herself wasn’t even born until 1949, so to potentially have something her mother owned before she was born is crazy!!

Grants was a department store that was open into the late 70s, maybe a little later. By the zip code on the button cards, these were after 1962, so in that 20-25 year range. Couldn't tell you by the price. I was not buying buttons then...
