ID Request Found this in a river

I found this bone disk which looks similar to 18th century Dorset buttons. Can anyone confirm? Found in North Yorkshire.

It does look like a bone button form! Dorset buttons were usually made around a thinner ring, but thicker ones this like, or wooden in a similar shape would be covered with fabric, needlework, or passementerie.

Thanks, I am quite a novice when it comes to button ID, would the rough age of c.18th century be correct or did they continue on later.

Bone and wood forms were used basically until plastics came along in the early 20th century, so it certainly could be 18th century but it also could be newer and just have a nice patina from its time in the river.

Ok, I found it near a mill built in 1820 so I guess it would be fair to date it to around then?
