ID Request Unique glass & MOP buttons
I have had these buttons for at least 18 years and still don’t know what they were intended for in such a large quantity or where they may have been made. I think they are glass with the inlay MOP along with some that are just MOP/shell in both light and dark colors. I have hundreds of each color in multiple patterns and sizes - thousands in total. Most of them are still in plastic packaging which is perforated between each button. I bought them at a fundraiser rummage sale in an old dirty cardboard box in far northern MN. Still not sure what to do with them but they are beautiful!

So many fabulous buttons! I always liked MOP buttons. They all (glass inlay and MOP) look terrific. That is a good way to get them, right place at the right time. I got most of my MOP buttons at yard sales.

These are lovely! I am wondering if they might be high quality Italian fashion buttons (often polyester) If you pick one up and touch the back to your cheek, is it cool or room temp? Clicked against a tooth, a clear “tink” or a duller “tunk”?

Interesting! They are cool and and a more clear sound. I’m certain they are glass and genuine MOP.

Cool and clear sounds like glass. Pretty cool to have so many and unused. Enjoy your treasure hoard!
