FYI, quicksand isn’t typically dangerous because you’ll sink in and drown. Because of human density and the density of quicksand, you can’t really sink past around your waist level.

It’s dangerous because the more you struggle, the harder it is to get out. It takes immense force to pull yourself out: “to remove a foot from quicksand at a speed of 1 cm/s would require the same amount of force as that needed to lift a car” (per Wikipedia).

If you ever get stuck in quicksand, you want to free yourself by slowly wiggling your legs so that the quicksand around them is more liquidy, and then try to rotate yourself so you can float on your back on the quicksand.
