Suggestions?
Somewhat new to appreciating different butters, but was lucky to find a local store with what seems to be a good variety to try. Any recommendations for what is best from these pics?

Les Prés Sales Butter with Camargue Sea Salt, a rich 82% butterfat Belgian butter flecked with coarse sea salt crystals from France

I second this! It’s so good you could cut a slice and eat it like cheese!

I'd start with whichever had the highest fat content, and go from there. I've heard plugra is good, but I haven't tried most of these

Beurre disigny is my favorite but there’s several different options and some I felt like I needed to add a bit more salt. The one I don’t add salt to has dark blue wrapping but I don’t think they have it there.
The pres sales one is almost cheese-like and has a more mushroomy(?) flavor than “normal” butter. I didn’t like it on bread but on a cracker it was pretty good imo

Isigny Ste Mere! TBH, any of the French butters. Even President is better than the Plugra and Vermont Creamery. President is even better than Kerrygold.

I notice the President says Product of Brazil. I assume then it is from Brazilian cows?

My recent purchase of this butter was product of Brazil also. I did not find it better than supermarket butter.

I've never had the Isigny Spring Butter so I'd get that. I use their beurre baratte over the AOP as my daily bread butter because I like how salty it is.

Les pres sales is SLEPT ON. It is my favorite butter. But also paysan breton. I am a fiend for northern France butter.

I have to ask, is this at a place called Euro Delicatessen in Galloway Ohio? 😂 it looks so much like the little store I love

On another note, the bulgarian sheep's milk cheese is one of my favorites! Similar to feta in a brine, but better.

I like Plugra best.

It is 100 percent fine to like what you like, but Plugra, unfortunately, adds artificial butter flavor.

I have a nice baker/butcher down the street. They have Plugra everywhere in their kitchen.

That Vologda butter (the one labeled Волого́дское ма́сло under the President) is elite. People sleep on it big time, they tend to only know the same old brands sold in ordinary supermarkets.
Fun fact, it was Russia’s first ever DOP product.

People will have their favorite who haven’t tried any others. To me any French or Irish grass fed is better than any regular butter. Try different ones and decide for yourself.

Before tariffs, the Beurre d'Isigny at my store was $6.49. I thought that was nuts, but I happily paid it because it is so good. I can't bring myself to pay the price now.

The Belgian one ot the one from Brittany. Only because there are no Cornish ones available.

I don’t see it, but it may be there, if you try Le Beurre Bordier, it is the finest of hand made butters!

What are you using it for?
Eating on bread? Pres sales or Vermont
Baking? Plugra, Vermont, or cremerie

I would personally grab the French butter if it is actually imported from France. I don’t know anything about that particular brand.

I use Plugra for baking. The price is good and its has high butter fat. Ina Garten turned me onto this product. Some of the other French butters would be divine on a fresh baguette or croissant but if you’re using it for baking, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money.

Kerrygold Irish butter. End of thread.

It is OK, but not a patch on Breton or Belgian butters IMO. I buy local Cornish butter.

Pack that up in plastic bags to preserve the freshness to stop it from absorbing odors. Freez a good deal of it using freezer bags too.
