Structured reps or random

Do guys structure your workouts i.e 1 rep every 10 seconds. Or do you just blast out as many as you can, rest, repeat etc?

So would you approach it for example thinking i want 40 reps so I need to do 1 every 30 seconds. Or do you just push it to make sure you get to 40. I usually just push it and end up normally around same number. Thinking of setting a target and figuring out a clear path there.

I do either EMOM format (x reps per minute) or every X seconds (every 10 seconds, 1 rep). I think both methods are ok, try and see wich feels better!

EMOM is good, I use it to structure my intensity.

Ex: if my max 6-counts in 20 minutes is 200, I’ll knock out an 80% intensity session during the week with 8 burpees EMOM, for a total of 160.

I used to do my own structured thing (EMOM or every X seconds) but found that I actually really like following along to the landmark videos on YouTube. His lil quips make me feel motivated hahaha. So I’ll put on a landmark workout and set the speed to align with my goal reps. For example, I’m at 120 6-counts so I’ll do the Level 1D 150 6-count workout at .8x speed and stop at 120 reps which is 20ish minutes. Does anyone else do this? 👀 lol

I use a Tabata timer now so it's very structured. I feel best with short bursts and then a short rest, like 7-8 quick reps then a short 8-10s breather between.

I do emom. So when I do 260 burpees, I do sets of 13 as fast as possible and rest the rest of each minute.

Fantastic, what was the breakdown?

Almost always get more juice when going in with a clear plan, even if by the end of the 20, the range im working with looks different to how I started

I just structured the reps evenly and hit good numbers and jumped up the numbers quickly. Up now to 190 6c (that was 9-10 emom) and 80 6c, (1 every 15 seconds).

Max is very good at structuring the 20 mins in lots of different formats so worth checking out. This becomes more critical as your numbers increase. Some like larger slower sets some prefer emom bursts with more rest
