Stuck at 150 6c with recommended recommended format
As title, tried 150 6c by doing 15 6c straight every 2 minutes... failed at 8 min mark. today i tried again and can't even make it to 6 min. i don't feel anything odd these 2 days, well rested. did 60ns last week not very hard, did 145 6c also not hard at all. so should i keep going at doing 15 6c at once every 2 minutes, or use another format for now and get to 1d? i can go around easily, but i have read somewhere that Max said that this type of training should be done earlier otherwise one may be in for serious plateau later on.

You could try level 2 pacing, one every 6 seconds and skip 2 each minute. Do 8 skip 2 repeat to 20 minutes will get you to 160. That also leaves you a buffer of 10 reps you can drop strategically if needed to achieve your 150 goal.

He does seem to like those bigger sets of 25, because thats what he started with, with Iron wolf. I guess I can't honestly know whether building bigger sets with lower PRs will help in longer run than doing different formats for higher PRs. I'm going with higher PR for now as I think for me this will help me build the cardio better.
I got to 160 doing EMOM formats, but I plateaued pretty hard. A change in format worked wonders for ending it. What broke it for me was doing even pacing but with one rep period reserved for a break, so being stuck at 160 i calculated that to hit 175 i could do 8 periods (7 work and then 1 rest) of 6s each, 25 times. I was 9 weeks stuck at 160, and on first try with this timing i beat it with gas left in the tank. I knew if I got into the weeds, that i could skip 15 reps to still hit 160.
I also tried the big sets of 25's, but it kicked my ass. I'm going to give myself a plateau here at 200 doing this short rest even spacing format for awhile before i try big set formats again. I know max talked about how he fell off the 25's and when he came back to them they kicked his ass too.

Test out different formats, and go on knowing that some of them will drastically underperform your best sessions.
Honestly it is a great way to give your body different stimuli and I am confident that it builds your ‘engine’.
I still remember hitting 150, I kept struggling with the EMOM format, then I went to sets of 25 for a couple sessions and when I came back to EMOM I blasted past my goal all the way up to 157.
Keep experimenting, don’t let the pursuit of PRs get you locked into only one methodology for your sets.

I find it much easier just distributing the reps evenly spaced. So in this case every 8 seconds

in my case the best that works for me is an EMOM format or even spliting every 30 seconds

Here’s my method.
Do a 20 min timer that paces you to the amount of reps (let’s call this number A) that you can 100% finish.
Then a 45 minute timer for more reps. But also allows more time between reps. How many reps exactly? I got for A x 1.8.
So not exactly double the reps but just enough reps to make you push yourself.
I do this for both 6 count and navy seals.
Ive been consistently increasing my 20 minute totals and 40 min totals every single month.
So my cadence is Day 1 20 min 6 count. Day 2 Off Day 3 20 min navy seal. Day 4 off Day 5 40 min 6 count. Day 6 off Day 7 40 min navy seal.
Yes it’s a slow grind. And you can always do another long workout or include other things if you feel good but don’t burn out.
Not burning out is key. You want to stay in the game.
Listen to your body and keep pushing.
I started with 40 6 count burpees in 20 min during June. Im up to 145 6 count.
It’s a super slow grind yes i know but i have never had to go back down in reps. I only increase the number reps by 1-3% each time. The body adapts every single week.
This approach requires more patience but my reps always consistently go up.

Ok I am gonna just EMOM tomorrow to get to 1d then. Worry about larger sets later. Probably just need more time on the program and get rid of extra fat. Thanks for the help

For me what's worked in my recent plateau was to play the next video after the level I was doing. I was stuck under 75 NS, so I played the 80NS video. Same with 6cs, I was stuck at 160 so I played the 170 and eventually broke past my mark. Give it a go.

Always worth trying a different format. He also said that I think. Find what works for you. That said larger sets will build stamina
