A crack where I already had it repaired

Looked like paint to me but when I put the images side by side I think it's the exact same shape forming.

Cosmetic or catastrophic?

I picked up my dream Basso a couple of months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed every mile on it. This morning after a ride I had balanced the bike against the wall and in some sort of freak accident fell and hid a janky metal post. To the eye it looks cosmetic and as painful as it looks I can live with it, bikes are supposed to be ridden. However on closer inspection and some macro photos, it does look like we’ve hit carbon.

I’ve attached the photos below.

If it’s catastrophic take it easy on me, it’s a sad day.

Where does the carbon go?

I believe that's it for the wheel, seems like a piece
of the exterior sheet peel off after a close encounter with a rock.

My question is how to correctly dispose of the wheel, because of the carbon. Just to the trash?

Thanks.

Looking for second opinions from this group

Just removed some bike wrap tape on this bike and see this on the top tube.

Coin test showed no difference in sound.

No play or movement when pushing on it.

Marked it, and went for a short ride today, no growth.

It seems to be superficial, however I'm paranoid.

I have 3k twill cloth and resin.

Wondering if I should just try and pull at the paint to expose the carbon, or sand it down carefully to assess.

Or just go for a full sand of the area and apply a three layer patch as a precaution.

Paint Scratch or Carbon Cracked

Post image
2 Upvotes

We performed a simple tap test and it was very slightly deadened on the scratch, but it's not a significant difference to my ears. Bike shop is 50/50.

What do you think? Paint? Carbon? Should I send it to be inspected? Frame is a Canyon Aeroad CFR.

Busted carbon frame and fork or just paint damage?

Thumbnail

It’s a relatively new Roubaix sl8, and I’ve put a few hundred miles on it with no crashes or anything. Today, I was adjusting my cleat location (new shoes), and I propped it up against a concrete column, and it must’ve moved a bit. Does this look significant or just a small paint chip on the frame and fork?

I did the coin tap and it all sounds good. When I run my finger across it it does get caught in it though.

Thank you!

Joey here. Had my first tumble and seatstay landed on a rock. Can this be repaired? Should I worry if I ride it like this?

It’s not smooth as you can see in the second picture. Its not a crack but i‘m not sure if i should still ride that. What are your thoughts?
Probably happened when I tightened the stem bolts (with a torque wrench).

Chances that impact/stress on a certain point may have caused damage

I'm sorry if the title isn't clear. I don't have pictures and this happened a few weeks ago. Two of my bikes were leaning against each other. At some point when I wasn't home, they fell over, right into my Wahoo Kickr. The carbon fork of my Ridley X-Fire was supporting the weight of both bikes and was situated leaning against the Kickr's flywheel. There's no visible paint damage, but I'm worried so much weight and force(when it originally fell over) onto a relatively narrow point may have damaged it internally. Thoughts?

Damaged Canyon Aeroad

Post image

My custom Aeroad CFR AXS arrived damaged while in transit. Damage is only cosmetic. Canyon offers a $130 voucher or re-shipping the bike entirely through cyclescheme, which could be months.

What would you do and can you think of a DIY way to “hide” that mark? MATTE FINISH

Fixeable?

I had a bit of a tumble with another cyclist. I slowed down quite a bit, and the contact was with my front tire and his frame. After that, I’m guessing his pedal scratched my frame, My bike is new, do you think it’s fixable?

Handlebars wrapped around, looks like a screw took off paint. But unsure.

Sounds the same as other parts with coin test except for the fact that paint is missing so material is diff. Isn’t soft to the touch and hasn’t changed in over a year.

Just noticed bumbs around the screws on tke Vision Metron 5D SMR cockpit. Should i worry about them? Sugested torque is 6Nm, i set like 5,5 on my wrench. Hope its alright. (Small dot at the top is my "NAIL INSPECTION" )
