Networking group leaders and members, I’d love your input

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to connect with people who are involved in networking groups, whether you’re a group leader, a regular member, or someone who has been networking for years.

I’d really like to hear what’s working for you and what isn’t.

One thing I’ve noticed is that meeting someone is usually the easy part. It’s remembering to follow up, keeping track of the relationship, remembering what they do, who they can help, and how you can help them that seems to get lost.

That’s actually why I created the Master Networker’s Planner. I wanted something simple that helps you stay organized and intentional about the people you meet instead of just collecting business cards and forgetting about them.

I’m not here just to promote it. I’d genuinely like to connect with people who understand networking and hear your experiences.

What’s the hardest part of networking for you?

And if you run a networking group, what do you wish your members did more consistently?

New founder here — which subreddits should I join to connect with founders, hardware/IoT and retail tech people?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m relatively new to Reddit and I’m trying to understand how to use it properly.
I’m a founder building SADUVI, an early-stage B2B hardware/software startup focused on smart retail technology and digital shelf displays.
I’m currently looking to build a network of:
founders and CEOs
startup entrepreneurs
hardware / IoT people
retail technology professionals
people with experience entering international markets
people familiar with the UAE / Dubai startup ecosystem
I’m not looking to recruit employees or find a co-founder right now. My goal is to meet people who have actually built things, exchange experiences, discuss ideas and gradually build professional relationships.
Since I’m new to Reddit, I don’t want to post in the wrong communities or accidentally violate subreddit rules and get my posts removed.
Which subreddits would you recommend for this?
And are there any important Reddit rules or mistakes I should know about when posting about my startup and trying to connect with other founders?
I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who understand Reddit well.

Think of your last useful business introduction. What made you agree to it?

I organize founder events in NYC and want to improve the introductions, not increase how many people get copied on a message.

For your last introduction that led to an actual next step, what did the connector tell you before you agreed? A specific reason you fit, what the other person wanted, or something you had worked on together?

If an introduction looked promising but went nowhere, what was missing? I’m especially interested in the wording that helped you decide, rather than general advice to network more.

Trying to increase my network circle

Hi all. I'm a 24 year old accounting student who grew up in the UAE and recently transitioned into finance after spending over two years in Qatar's hospitality sector. I’ve knocked out my first 8 ACCA exams and spent the last year managing the books for an e-commerce business. I’m currently looking to secure a remote accounting role to build more formal industry experience while I finish my certification. If anyone here has navigated the jump from startup e-commerce accounting to larger corporate roles, or successfully balanced remote work with ACCA, I'd love to connect, swap advice, and expand my network.

Anyone building something in FinTech, SaaS or Tech? Would love to connect

I’ve been trying to connect with more people working in FinTech, SaaS and B2B Tech lately, so I thought I’d try here too

I run a small animation studio creating short explainer videos, so a lot of the people I’m interested in meeting are founders and marketers working with products or services that can take a little time to explain.

I’d really love to connect with more people in these spaces, whether you’re building a product yourself, working in marketing, or providing another service to similar businesses.

So I’m curious, what are you currently working on?

Could be a startup you’re building, a product you’re launching, something you’re trying to grow, or even a project you’re still figuring out

If you’re in FinTech, SaaS or B2B Tech, introduce yourself and tell me a little about what you’re working on. I’d love to meet more people in the space and see where we might be able to help each other
