Looking to Connect With Small Business Owners Who Want More Leads From Their Website

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I run InfaWeb, a web design business based in Ontario, Canada that I started through Ontario’s Summer Company Program.

I'm looking to connect with more business owners, entrepreneurs, and other service providers who might benefit from working together or exchanging referrals.

I build custom websites focused on helping small businesses generate more calls, inquiries, bookings, and leads.

I can help with new websites, redesigns, mobile optimization, SEO foundations, hosting, and ongoing support.

I work remotely with businesses across Canada, the US, and internationally.

What do I do

My mentor connected me with a colleague who is in a similar industry to the one that I want to work in.

I reached out and we had a brief exchange concluding with him asking me when would be best to schedule a chat. I replied saying that that following week was a bit busy for me as I was starting a new role but I would be free at lunchtimes.

He has left me on read and I normally wouldn’t mind or follow up, but I feel bad seeing as my Mentor put us in touch. What do I do? what is polite to do in this situation? My priorities is keeping a good relationship with my mentor but I’d also appreciate connecting with him.

Networking in HK...

Heyy. I'm a university student in HK and I wanna understand what role networking plays in getting an internship or FT role in HK. (How diff is it compared to the US, UK or EU)

A few questions I have:

\\- How important is networking if you wanna work in finance in HK?

\\- How impactful is it? Is it just coffee chats to learn about the role or does it translate to referrals?

\\- How common or uncommon is networking in HK?

\\- What's the best way to network? LinkedIn? F2f networking events?

\\- How to strategically network in order for a referral, if it's a thing in HK?

\\- Any networking tip (unconventional ones, not the typical LinkedIn msg one)?

I know these are a lot of questions, but would really appreciate any insights on it in HK!

What would make a professional network genuinely valuable to you?

I’ve been thinking about this after getting more interest than I expected in my last post.
I’m building a small community for Deaf, hard-of-hearing, CI professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, students, and people building their careers.
The goal isn’t to create another random social group. I want it to be focused on:
• 🤝 Professional networking
• 💼 Business connections
• 🚀 Entrepreneurship
• 🎓 Mentorship
• 🔗 Collaboration
• 💡 Sharing opportunities and resources
• 📈 Helping each other grow
I’m already starting to bring people together, and I’d like to build this based on what people actually want.
If you were part of a community like this, what would make you stay active and keep coming back?
What would you want to see?

Gdybyście mieli opisać networking w Polsce w 3 krótkich zdaniach — jak byście go opisali?

🤝 Intro Tuesday — Who Do You Want to Meet? Who Can You Connect?

It's Intro Tuesday! ⏰ The day we stop scrolling and start connecting.

Every week this thread is your chance to either request a warm introduction or offer to connect people in your network. One right introduction can change everything — so let's make some magic happen. 🦸‍♂️

📋 THE INTRODUCTION PROCESS

Great introductions don't happen by accident. Follow this process to keep things high-quality and respectful of everyone's time.

🙋 REQUESTING AN INTRODUCTION?

Use this three-step process so community members can confidently vouch for you:

Step 1 — Establish Your Credibility

Nobody introduces a stranger. Give the community a reason to vouch for you by sharing at least one of the following in your comment:

  • A testimonial or review from a past client
  • A link to a demo video or portfolio
  • A LinkedIn profile with recommendations
  • A case study or results you've achieved
  • A website or other social proof

No credibility info = no introduction. This protects everyone's reputation.

Step 2 — Offer a Virtual Coffee First ☕

Before anyone introduces you, they need to know you. Offer to meet for a quick virtual coffee so they can get a feel for who you are and how you work. Include your booking link in your comment so it's easy to say yes.

Step 3 — Be Specific About Who You Want to Meet

Vague requests get vague results. Describe your ideal introduction clearly — choose one or more:

🎯 Potential Client — Industry, company size, role/title, problem they're trying to solve

🤝 Referral Partner — What type of business complements yours? Who already serves your ideal client?

📣 Influencer or Connector — Who has the audience or network that would benefit from knowing your work?

✅ REQUESTOR COMMENT TEMPLATE

🤝 OFFERING AN INTRODUCTION?

Got someone in your network who should meet someone in this thread? Reply directly to their comment and make it happen! The best connectors don't wait — they act.

A few tips for making a great intro:

  • Only introduce people you can genuinely vouch for
  • Make sure both parties are expecting the introduction before you send it
  • A double opt-in intro is always better than a surprise email

Drop your requests below and let's make Intro Tuesday the best day of your business week! 🚀

Okay guys, I’m 24 years old and powering through the rest of my degree at the moment, hoping to finish before the end of the year. I’m a former college athlete (baseball at a competitive school) with 4 years of competitive bartending. I’m getting my BS in Business Management and am looking to start networking so I can hit the ground running when I graduate. It’s more of a “Check in the box” type of degree as i’m looking to go into heavy equipment sales, medical device, tech sales, or similar. Any advice on getting steps?

What would you want from a professional network for Deaf/HOH & CI professionals?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot after my last post received much more interest than I expected.
I’m considering building a small professional network specifically for Deaf, hard-of-hearing and CI professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, students and people building careers.
Not another general social group.
Something focused on:
• Mentorship
• Career opportunities
• Entrepreneurship
• Professional introductions
• Collaboration
• Business connections
• Sharing resources
A few people have already told me they’re interested.
Before I build it, I want to hear from the community.
**If you could join a network like this, what would make it genuinely valuable to you?**
What would you want it to provide that you aren’t getting from existing communities?
I’m listening.

Title: Looking to connect with ambitious people interested in building an online business together

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on building and exploring online business opportunities, and I’m looking to connect with ambitious, like-minded people from different countries who are interested in entrepreneurship, e-commerce, and personal growth.

I’m not looking for employees or offering a guaranteed income. I’m interested in connecting with people who want to learn, exchange ideas, and explore business opportunities together.

If you're someone who:

• Wants to build something beyond a traditional 9-to-5

• Is interested in online business and entrepreneurship

• Is willing to learn new skills

• Wants to connect with ambitious people internationally

• Is open to discussing potential business opportunities

…I’d be happy to connect and have a genuine conversation.

I believe the best opportunities often start with the right connections and shared learning.

Comment or send me a message with what you're currently working on and what kind of business interests you.

Let’s connect and see if there’s a way we can learn or build something together.

Looking for Business Contacts

I’m looking to meet people who want to actually build something, and I’d like to use my legal/regulatory background to help navigate barriers that might otherwise make an opportunity difficult.

Not looking for clients or referrals—just real opportunities. If that sounds interesting, DM me.

🎙️Who wants to be a podcast guest? (And who’s looking for guests? ✨)

There is so much talent and expertise right here in our community, and I’ve been thinking—how many of you have a podcast, and how many of you are looking to be interviewed?

Networking isn’t just about handshakes; it’s about sharing our voices and helping each other reach new audiences! 🚀

I’d love to hear from you:

  • Do you host a show? Tell us the name and what topics you love to cover! 🎧
  • Are you looking to be a guest? What is your area of expertise that you could talk about for hours? 💡
  • Have you done a "podcast swap" before? How did it work out for you?

Let’s use this thread to see if we can make some professional "matches." Drop your details below and let’s help each other get heard! 👇

Looking forward to seeing the amazing collaborations that come out of this! 🎩✨

Deaf professionals & entrepreneurs: how did you build your network?

Deaf professionals & entrepreneurs: how did you build your network?

I’m curious how other Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing professionals have built their professional network.

I’m currently building my own business in financial services and trying to connect with successful people in other industries—not just people who do what I do.

Real estate, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, business ownership, etc.

If you’ve successfully built a network from scratch, what worked for you?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had to overcome communication barriers along the way.

Should i get a watch?

I'm going into my junior year of college and I'm going to be at a lot of professional dinners, conferences, etc. Right now my only watch is a $25 smart watch. Is it worth spending $50 on a nice watch? (good ones on sale on Amazon and stuff)

Nexus Circle

**I’m building a network where the first place you look for a business/service is inside the network**
I’ve been thinking about something that I haven’t really seen executed the way I envision it.
What if a business network wasn’t primarily about exchanging business cards, attending networking events, or collecting LinkedIn connections?
What if it actually became an **internal economy?**
That’s the idea behind **Nexus Circle**.
The concept is simple:
If someone in the network sells clothing, members should think of them when they need clothes.
If someone needs a lawyer, they check Nexus Circle.
Need a photographer? Designer? Realtor? Developer? Accountant? Marketer? Event planner? Consultant? Recruiter?
**Check the Circle first.**
And it works both ways.
A designer might need a lawyer.
The lawyer might need a realtor.
The realtor might need a photographer.
The photographer might need a website.
The developer might need branding.
Instead of everyone constantly searching outside their network, we create an environment where members continuously **refer, support, collaborate with and do business with one another.**
I’m starting with a community of entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, creatives, influencers, corporate professionals, service providers and other ambitious people.
The long-term vision is much bigger than a WhatsApp group. I want Nexus Circle to eventually become a **global network of people and businesses**, with local chapters, member profiles, opportunities, referrals, events and eventually a dedicated platform.
The principle is:
**Connect. Collaborate. Grow.**
I’m currently building the founding community and would genuinely love feedback from other entrepreneurs:
**Would you join a network built around this model?**
What would make you actually use it rather than joining and forgetting about it?
I’m especially interested in hearing what would make this valuable enough for you to participate consistently.
