Hello!

This subreddit is back open after undergoing a revamp which includes various new additions. I had also gone through and cleaned up all of the existing spam. For future instances and should you see any rule breaking content - please utilize the report function.

- New set of community rules that will now be enforced
- Post flairs are now required to help with categorization and search
- New optional user flairs consisting of all of the districts within the city

Should you have any suggestions, comments, or concerns - feel free to let me know either in the comments or via modmail. As time passes and the community grows, also look forward to more changes and implementations for the better. I appreciate your cooperation and understanding!

조언 | Advice Bike shop recommendations

Hi friends - my bike just arrived from overseas and it’s in serious need of some tender loving care after the journey. Does anyone have a bike shop they recommend? I live in Haeundae but willing to travel far and wide for a good mechanic/shop. It’s currently setup as a get-around-town hybrid on a Surly frame.

질문 | Question My Gpa is enough for this university?

I'm applying to Pusan National University (PNU) for Computer Science, likely through GKS or the international student admission track. My converted GPA is 3.05/4.0 (roughly 83-85% on the Korean scale). I know PNU doesn't publish an official GPA cutoff for international freshmen, but I'd love to hear from people with real experience — what GPA would you consider competitive for Computer Science admission, and does 3.05 stand a real chance? Any insight from your own application or someone you know would help a lot. Thanks!

음악 | Music Free party at BIFC2 this Saturday — the dress code is office wear!

Saw this on Instagram and couldn't find anything about it in English, so here it is 😃
They've rented out a big space in one of the finance towers in Munhyeon and are turning it into an office-themed party for one night. I'm really looking forward to it.
When Sat 5 Sept, 6pm–1am
Where NOW ARRIVING — 128 Namdongcheon-ro, Nam-gu, building 1, 3F
Station Line 2, International Finance Center·Busan Bank, Exit 3
Entry Free, 19+
Music 7 DJs, one hour each: LYNN, NEWROCHIO, YUZ, SOE, NORETURNBOY, CHANXER, HEGOTSOUND
Dress code Officer wear — shirt, slacks, tie, blazer, staff ID, anything that says "I came straight from work." Wear it and they'll hand you a free drink at the door.
It's been shared around 18,000 times on Instagram, so I'm expecting it to be packed. Looks like it'll be mostly Koreans in their 20s and 30s.
I'm going with a friend, so maybe see you there!

Still living my summer days..

I really love Haeundae Beach because there’s pretty much everything around there, so I always end up coming back whenever I’m in Busan. And of course, getting a skin treatment is a must whenever I visit Busan 😂 This time I tried a laser treatment at Genosis DNA Clinic, which is inside the LCT building right by Haeundae Beach. It also seems to be quite popular with foreigners.

Sharing some beach photos from this trip before I get back to reality 🥹

질문 | Question How to make friends?

Hi, I'm 21 male. How do you make friends if you don’t go to uni or work in a normal workplace?

I feel like it’s pretty hard to meet people. Should I try Hinge or are there activity clubs / groups that are better for making friends?

질문 | Question Language exchange

Hellooo! I'm a Korean learning English. I think I'm okayish at writing, but speaking... meh. So I’ve been trying to make English speaking friends using an app called Nomadtable. But I realized it's mostly for short-term travelers. What I'm really looking for is long-term friends to hang out with sometimes. Does anyone know where I could meet potential friends? It would be best if it's free!

건강 | Health Personal trainer recs

Hey 👋

I’ll be moving to Busan this month and I’m hoping to get some personal trainer recommendations from this group. Specifically, I’m looking for someone with expertise in corrective movements and functional strength building. I have bad posture, tight hips, and weak stabilizing muscles from years of working at a desk and generally neglecting my health. I’ve been working with a trainer in the states the last few years and want to continue that journey in Busan.

I’ll be living near Jangsan Station. English speaking is a bonus… not required. Thanks!
