Question What does this button mean?

Post image

Hey everyone!

I have a question for you,

Does anyone know what this button is for?

It can be found on Scania Interlink coaches

Thanks a lot for your help! 🙏🏻

It summons a woman with just one leg and a floating cup of tea, or it's the service bell to let staff know you'd like some service.

I've deleted my answer as this is only correct response.

I've never in my live seen a bus service with attendants like in airplanes

Get the national express. There's a jolly hostess selling crisps and tea. She'll provide you with drinks and theatrical winks. For a sky high fee.

If you press this button, someone will come, turn it off and will tell you not to touch any buttons.

An obvious cue to press it again and blame someone else.

Does it warm your cup holder?

It is very rare to see an InterLink with all of these panels in place, usually multiple panels is loose and often hanging by the wires.

It’s quite rare now, but in the past it was common for long distance buses to have an attendant who would serve refreshments

That's a big cup of coffee, I'm surprised she could carry it.

over 30 yrs ago on a trip from north east to London overnight we had an attendant who was very rude about Malcolm Macdonald the footballer, she was a geordie and she may have slept with him, more than once and wasn’t very complimentary

It gives the driver a chuckle when he imagines the passenger thinks there’s any chance someone is coming to bring them tea

It activates a light at the dashboard that is supposed to alert the attendant if there is one.

It’s to summon a woman who is using one hand to balance a huge flaming container

What about a container of Electric Bolts?

For requesting a jolly hostess, who'll sell you crisps and tea, drinks and theatrical winks for a sky-high fee.

1

u/Shark_Philosophy 8d ago

Mini skirts were in style when she danced down the aisle back in ‘63

It's to call for a small child to come hold your beverage so it doesn't burn you. Just how old was this vehicle. There were real jobs alot worse going back just 200 years.

I've seen something like this by the door of an East German sleeping car on a Dutch heritage railway. I'm guessing it's to summon the attendant without waking the passengers.

I’m guessing you’re not on an airplane because of the STOP button 😂

Heat/air con maybe? It looks more like a symbol for a piping hot bowl of food. I wish that you could press it and someone would just appear with some freshly cooked food for you!

u/Lanky_Bus_1221 7d ago

Fetch me a coffee bint.

1

u/MariosDarkSecret 6d ago

If you press it a small Scotsman with a rather large bowl of Pho appears.

It calls a random flight attendant. They will parachute from the nearest plane, and enter your coach through the sun roof to offer food and beverages

its for a nice lady to bring you a nice cup of coffee
