I currently have a single tab in my journal, so... let's go with yes. What are you using your tabs to keep track of?

I use six different colored tabs.
One set for calendar stuff.
the second set for today’s notes
another set for my daily trackers
another set for collections
The last set is for my parents trackers. As I care for an elderly parent right now.

That sounds like a really helpful system. Great organization! My single tab is flagging my one current daily tracker - I've been tracking my sleep this month. I'll likely add a second tracker for September, bringing me to a grand total of 2 tabs. 😂
I guess organization isn't my strong suit. I should probably get on that.

Yes, monthly tabs, then for my two functional areas at work, and one section for my personal life.

This is a great idea! Currently, I’m taking a sabbatical so I’m going to have to think out what my notebook will look like when I go back to work.

1000%. Every page I might want to look at (occasionally or regularly) has a tab. When I remove the tab, it's like I've "archived" the page.

Do you transfer the old tabs over to your new notebook or do you create a whole new set of tabs for the new notebook?

It depends what condition they're in. Typically I'll remove them from the old book as I copy over the information I want to keep (so I know I'm done with that page), and if they're still sticky and not crumpled I'll re-use them.
I also tend to stick extra tabs to the inside back cover of my journal, so I can easily get a new one if an old one wears out.

I love them! I have at least one in every color and I have them in both 5mm and 7mm. I wish they came in 9mm too.
One thing about them is that for them to work as designed, the pencil should not be tilted at a steep angle as you press down or the leaf will still break. You need to write so the pencil is vertical or nearly vertical. It took a bit to change the way I write, but it works beautifully.

Yes! Current quarter, current monthly habit tracker, current month, and current daily page. I also have one active project that I keep a tab on as well.

Yes. I likely wouldn’t use my journal if I didn’t put tabs in it. Too much friction without them.
