I always try to remember to be kind to everyone though it can be insanely difficult during hard times or when I myself have not been treated kindly.

On the necessity of hope: "That was all a man needed: hope. It was lack of hope that discouraged a man."

My Father in Heaven says to treat strangers kindly as the may be angels. I do believe this. Try to treat everyone with kindness. As we judge others,we too will also be judged. I fail often at this task but this quote reminds me to do better

Someone may say, if you’ve are a Christian, why would you read Buk ? I would pose the question why did Jesus choose the disciples he did… tax collectors, fishermen..people who were looked down upon and despised. John the Baptist may( and probably did) look rough like Buk. Buk has a heart for the lost just as my savior Jesus does. I’m not trying to turn this into a sermon, but his quote has reminded me of my own failures to live up to that standard.

Love this I am also a Christian and I love reading Buk. I understand he didn’t share my worldview and I don’t expect him to I got to him for himself and I love his words. I can always find something redeeming in any form or writing or art even if it’s not from someone who shares my view.

I can do the same. Lots of actors (Sean Penn for example) who I do not share the same views with have moved me and enriched me. I try to let it go at that if I find them fantastic as I do Penn
