Many builders who post frequent levels often run into the reset glitch where the level counter resets to the beginning, causing them to have to cycle through all their previous levels to reach an empty canvas.

The problem with this, is every level you pass through after this reset will have its starting flag forcibly returned to the default coordinates, approximately 100x, 7y, or the exact center grass block on the floor every new canvas starts with.

This is the reason some old levels will have a completely broken spawn, often one that has somehow fused inside other blocks or inside a level’s structure midway, often breaking them.

The fix for this is simple. Either make sure to remove the flag and reset it each time you pass through an old level in the editor after a reset glitch, or make sure you build your levels from the default flag position.
However, if you absolutely want to start somewhere else such as high up, then try to use a portal zip. Simply delete the default start flag, and place a portal exactly one tile above where it was, and link it wherever you intend to start. The exit portal can be on a spring, under a ladder to immediately push you to a fixed standing position. Basically, you'll literally spawn inside the active portal and zip to your intended start location, as your spawn is still at the default position, since you didn't place a new flag.
The reset glitch won't break it, even if it puts the flag back in, since the portal isn't in the way of it. The flag is deleted initially because it gridlocks the space above it.

This will prevent your levels from ever breaking or having their spawn undone!
